【Yokohama/Yokosuka Area】

Japan’s department store fairs are a whole experience 🇯🇵✨

For a limited time, you can explore foods and specialties from across Japan and beyond all in one place.

Some of the most popular items are so famous that people line up before the store opens, and waiting an hour is completely normal 😳

This time, we went to a Hawaiian Fair 🌺🥧
We were most excited for Ted’s Bakery pies… but they were already sold out by the time we got there 😭

There were still so many Hawaiian foods and crafts to enjoy. We picked up everything from meals and desserts to aroma oils, and definitely got to enjoy a little Hawaiian atmosphere 🌴✨

They even had dancers from the Polynesian Cultural Center visiting from Oahu for live performances, which made it feel even more like Hawaii.

Events like this remind us how fun it can be to experience different cultures while living in Japan.
We’re always happy to help make life here a little easier and more enjoyable for international residents.

Finally made it to Topoff Donuts after seeing it on TV last year 🍩✨
The colorful pop-art vibe felt so Yokosuka 🇺🇸🇯🇵

You can eat inside, but my family, our dog, and I grabbed donuts to-go and enjoyed them by the ocean instead 🌊🐶
Honestly, that made it even better.

If you’ve ever been stationed in Hawai‘i, this one’s for you 🌺

There’s a Hawaiian Fair happening right now in Yokohama Takashimaya, bringing back some serious island nostalgia.

You probably remember those famous pies from Ted’s Bakery, the ones you’d always spot at local grocery stores.
For a lot of people, it’s one of those simple, unforgettable tastes of Hawai‘i.

Fair warning… these pies come with that classic island level sweetness you don’t really run into in Japan 😆 but that’s exactly what makes them so good.

You normally can’t get them in Japan, but they’re here for a limited time at this event. If you’ve been missing that flavor, this is your chance.

The fair runs through May 6, so don’t miss it 🌴✨

Didn’t have time to try it (long line…), but it’s definitely on my list!!
