Nestled in the heart of Kandy, right across from the sacred Temple of the Tooth Relic, Queen’s Hotel is more than just a place to stay—it’s a living monument to Sri Lanka’s past. Originally built in the 19th century as the Governor’s residence, it later became one of the country’s oldest and most iconic hotels.

With its grand colonial architecture, arched windows, and timeless charm, the hotel carries echoes of royalty, governors, and travelers from centuries gone by. Walking through its halls feels like stepping back in time, while the vibrant spirit of Kandy outside reminds you that history and culture are still alive today.

Staying here was not just about comfort—it was about experiencing elegance, heritage, and the soul of Kandy itself. 🏰🌿

Sri Lanka’s Kandyan dance is more than performance—it’s a living tradition, a heartbeat of our culture passed down through generations. The graceful movements, vibrant costumes, and powerful drums tell stories of resilience, devotion, and joy.

Proud to share this glimpse of artistry that continues to inspire and connect us to our roots. 💃🇱🇰

The kingdom of sigiriya.... Lion Rock

27/12/2025

Our journey to Sigiriya, thelegendary Lion Rock fortress in Sri Lanka, was nothing short of unforgettable. Rising 200 meters above the surrounding plains, this UNESCO World Heritage Site is not only a breathtaking natural wonder but also a masterpiece of ancient engineering. Built in the 5th century by King Kashyapa, Sigiriya was once a royal palace, complete with elaborate water gardens, frescoes, and a dramatic gateway shaped like a lion. Climbing to the summit with my friends was both challenging and exhilarating—the panoramic views from the top made every step worthwhile. What fascinated us most was learning how advanced the hydraulic systems were, with pools and fountains that still function today after more than 1,500 years. Sharing this adventure together made the history come alive, and standing at the summit felt like stepping back into a world of kings, monks, and legends.

After weeks of relentless rain and devastating floods that brought pain to people, animals, property, and our beautiful environment, today the sun rises with quiet pride. The sky shines as if nothing ever happened — reminding us that nature has its own rhythm, beyond our control.

When nature says “this is it,” all we can do is accept, endure, and find hope in the light that follows. 🌞✨

In the middle of rising waters, a little boy pedals his bicycle with pure joy. The flood may be serious, but he doesn’t know that yet. To him, it’s just another adventure splashing through the streets, laughing at the ripples, living in the moment. Childhood has a way of turning even challenges into play, reminding us that innocence sees only wonder where adults see worry.

Sri Lanka has faced devastating floods, touching every corner of our land. Amidst the disaster, I saw boys ,children playing in the flooded waters. Their laughter hides the pain inside, because that is the nature of little minds: when they are together, they can mask sorrow; when alone, the sadness returns.

But behind their innocent play lies a truth we cannot ignore. Humanity has built an artificial world against nature, forgetting that we can never win such a battle. Nature was established with balance trees, water, animals large and small. Disturb that balance, and the consequences are dangerous, as we are experiencing now.

We must stop, reflect, and act. We need to protect what nature requires, not reshape it to our convenience. If we fail, what kind of future are we building for our children?

Let us think deeply, and choose wisely for them, for us, for the world.

🌧️🇱🇰 For the past three days, Sri Lanka has been battered by relentless rainstorms. The Aththanagalla River has now overflowed, flooding its banks and reminding us of nature’s sheer power.

This video captures the rising waters — a sight both awe-inspiring and alarming. Let’s keep the affected communities in our thoughts and hope for safer days ahead. 💙

Where the sea meets the sky, stories unfold.
A moment suspended between light and shadow—waves crashing, clouds gathering, and the horizon glowing with mystery. The day may be ending, but the ocean never sleeps.

Clouds above, laughter below.
A moody sky couldn’t dampen the joy on this shoreline kids splashing, smiles blooming, waves whispering stories to the sand. This was more than just a beach day; it was a celebration of togetherness, play, and the simple magic of being present.
