Yesterday, LtCol Spriggs gathered the battalion one final time to share her parting remarks, words of wisdom, and appreciation ahead of her Change of Command ceremony. She was also presented with farewell gifts from Maj Kearns, our Executive Officer, and LCDR Kim, our Chaplain.

Ma’am, the battalion is profoundly grateful for your leadership, mentorship, and the unwavering care you have shown to the Marines and the mission. Your commitment has set a standard the battalion will carry forward. Fair winds and following seas.

During her farewell speech, we also had a surprise cameo from a few CH-53 heavy lift helicopters! 🚁 (last picture)

Resolute Dragon 25🐲:
Here are a few photos of LtCol Spriggs and LtCol M. Itagaki, from the Japan Ground Self-Defense Force (JGSDF), exchanging gifts of gratitude and appreciation. Other members of the JGSDF also extended their thanks to SgtMaj Boff, our Battalion Sergeant Major, at the conclusion of the exercise.

This exchange follows weeks of collaboration between 3d LSB and the JGSDF’s 105th Supply Battalion, during which both units worked tirelessly to build and prepare air delivery bundles for training drops. The exercise highlighted 3d LSB’s flexibility and the enduring partnership with our JGSDF counterparts—demonstrating our shared readiness to execute air delivery operations in diverse and demanding environments.

(Part 1/2) Korean Marine Exchange Program (KMEP) 25.1 - Marines from 1st Platoon, Motor Transport Company conducted realistic convoy operations training focused on tactical proficiency. This training included actions on contact and immediate action drills using crew-served weapons, enhancing readiness for operating in contested environments. Our vehicles are critical to sustaining motor transport operations and ensuring continuous throughput wherever required. This training underscores the importance of protecting our mobility assets, preserving III MEF’s operational reach and bolstering our general support capability under any conditions.

Another successful ex*****on in the books! Conducting Helicopter Support Team (HST) operations—both day and night—is one of the many critical capabilities 3d LSB provides to III MEF in the Indo-Pacific Theater. Thus why ensuring our Landing Support Marines remain highly trained and proficient in these high-risk missions is essential to mission success. Pictured here is a recent nighttime HST evolution conducted with HMH-462, showcasing our Marines’ ability to swiftly execute requirements that lead to mission success.

Tune into the comment section for videos of this evolution being conducted! 🎥

The battalion hosted an incredible Family Day celebration, bringing together all Landers and their families for a fun-filled day at the beach. With music, food, and relaxing activities, the event was a well-deserved break and a reflection of the hard work and dedication our Marines have shown over the past few months—enabling 3d LSB to operate like a well-oiled machine.

We also had the honor of celebrating the mentorship and leadership of MGySgt Christopher Austin as he embarks on the next chapter of his career. Master Guns, thank you for your unwavering guidance and impact on this battalion. Fair winds and following seas!

Freedom Banner 25 - Marines with Landing Support Platoon execute an In-Stream Offload of equipment in the Republic of Korea.

Joined by other units across 3d MLG, III MEF, the U.S. Navy’s Naval Beach Group 1, and the Republic of Korea Navy. This strongly reinforced 3d LSB’s effectiveness, and pivotal role, in enabling ship-to-shore operations with our partner nations. Showcasing the unit’s capability of facilitating the throughput of equipment from a Maritime Propositioning Force ship to multiple units on the ground.

Our Marines with Landing Support (LS) Company, LS Platoon conducting External Lifts as a Helicopter Support Team with HMH-462. Our Marines conduct these lifts to showcase our enhanced tactical readiness when forward deployed. Especially when it comes time to put gear under the bird. Overall, this training reinforces 3d LSB’s “always ready to execute” capability in support of III MEF throughput operations.
