For almost 200 years an ordinary Jamaican couldn't go from one parish to another without being declared a criminal. he couldn't look at the bosses wife without lashes. it quit work you were a criminal. It you practiced your religion you were a criminal.

In 1831:and 1865 hundreds were beaten and hanged in Jamaica as criminals just by being Black, poor and in the wrong place. And those were just the major events. our history is littered with ppl becoming "criminals" at the race track at Cumberland, at Bedward's revivals, ar the garrisons of Fort Augusta, at Frome sugar estate, at Green Bay, in the ghettos of Kingston.

Jamaicans have never unlearned that someone is innocent until proven in court and that 'criminals' have rights... until, of course, they themselves suddenly have finger pointed at them.

Have you ever tried to have a reasonable conversation with a pig headed person?

Someone who...no matter what subject you raise, you know they won't get your point of view, but impose theirs.

For example....

When we pray to the REAL God heaven about our enemies, we have to ask for nice things to happen to them.

Wouldn't it be nice to have God agree for the wicked to immediately fall and bruk dem darn neck? But noooo, God will rebuke us instead!

Then, if you complain to God about church ppl, the first thing He wants to know is whether we see them as siblings... Like someone from the same Father n home.... Yuk,! SMH.

But the hardest thing about approaching God is His habit of examining my life first... My friends wonder why I avoid even looking at p**n, or treating ppl as they deserve, or stealing water n electricity, or supporting s*x out of wedlock, or divorce n remarriage, etc..... It's all because Jesus has the annoying habit of dealing with me before we can have a real conversation!

So it's difficult to talk to the real Father in Heaven.

Now... On his other hand, ...

It's very easy to pray to the God who leaves us alone, who listens to all our complaints and approves all our desires.

In fact, we even imagine He's the vengeful angry God atheists point out in the Bible... The one David prayed to deal hard blows to His enemies and the God who can't wait to send honos*xuals and hypocrites to hell.

That 'god' is the nice one!

But the real God, is bull headed... You just can't approach Him with anything else in your intentions but love n patience. Approaching Him ain't a fool's game.
