The United Union of Jamaica (UUJ) has been called to a meeting by National Security Minister Dr. Horace Chang to discuss issues regarding temporary and part-time workers attached to the Jamaica Constabulary Force islandwide.

The category of workers are groundsmen, office clerks, station cleaners, motor vehicle washers, cell attendants, buccaneers and artisans.

The meeting is set for October 24th 2018 @ 10a.m.

Matters to be discuss are,
Permanent appointment
Increased Allownce & Proper working gear for the bucaneers
Inadequate protective gear
Shortage of working materials, etc.

The Jamaica Confederation of Trade Unions is locked in a meeting with all Trade Union heads to have further discussion on the next step forward as it relates to settlement of wage negotiation with the Government
