شارك رئيس قسم الطاقة والمياه والبيئة الاستاذ جواد هدهود نايف في مركز النهرين للدراسات الاستراتيجية في تقديم محور ضمن الجلسة الحوارية التي أقامها المجمع العلمي العراقي بعنوان «الحوكمة المائية والاستجابة المناخية: سياسات حماية البيئة وضمان الاستدامة».

وتناول المحور أبرز التحديات التي تواجه إدارة الموارد المائية في العراق، في ظل التغيرات المناخية المتسارعة وما تفرضه من ضغوط متزايدة على مصادر المياه والأنظمة البيئية، مع التركيز على أهمية تطوير منظومة الحوكمة المائية وتعزيز كفاءة إدارة الموارد المتاحة.

Head of the Energy, Water and Environment Department at Al-Nahrain Center Participates in a Dialogue Session on Water Governance and Climate Response

Mr. Jawad Hadhood Nayef, Head of the Energy, Water and Environment Department at the Al-Nahrain Center for Strategic Studies, participated in presenting a theme during the dialogue session organized by the Iraqi Scientific Academy entitled “Water Governance and Climate Response: Environmental Protection Policies and Sustainability Assurance.”

The theme addressed the most prominent challenges facing water resources management in Iraq in light of accelerating climate changes and the increasing pressures they impose on water sources and environmental systems. It also focused on the importance of developing the water governance system and enhancing the efficiency of managing available resources.

عقد قسم الصحة العامة والأمن الغذائي في مركز النهرين للدراسات الاستراتيجية ورشة متخصصة بعنوان «برنامج دعم المصانع العراقية»، بحضور عدد من أعضاء مجلس النواب العراقي، ومدير عام مركز النهرين للدراسات الاستراتيجية، إلى جانب عدد من الباحثين والمختصين، لمناقشة واقع القطاع الصناعي العراقي وبحث سبل دعمه وتطويره بما يعزز الإنتاج المحلي ويسهم في تحقيق الأمن الاقتصادي والغذائي.

وتناولت الورشة أبرز التحديات التي تواجه المصانع العراقية، وآليات دعم المنشآت الصناعية ورفع كفاءتها الإنتاجية، وتحسين جودة المنتجات، وتعزيز الالتزام بالمعايير الصحية والبيئية، بما يسهم في توفير منتجات آمنة وذات جودة للمستهلك العراقي.

Public Health and Food Security Department Holds a Workshop on the Iraqi Factories Support Program in the Presence of Members of Parliament and the Director General of Al-Nahrain Center

The Public Health and Food Security Department at Al-Nahrain Center for Strategic Studies held a specialized workshop entitled “Iraqi Factories Support Program,” attended by a number of members of the Iraqi Council of Representatives, the Director General of Al-Nahrain Center for Strategic Studies, as well as a number of researchers and specialists, to discuss the reality of the Iraqi industrial sector and explore ways to support and develop it in a manner that enhances local production and contributes to achieving economic and food security.

The workshop addressed the most prominent challenges facing Iraqi factories, mechanisms for supporting industrial establishments and increasing their production efficiency, improving product quality, and enhancing compliance with health and environmental standards, thereby contributing to the provision of safe and high-quality products for the Iraqi consumer.

مركز النهرين يشارك في تقديم محور حول الحماية من الابتزاز الإلكتروني

شارك مركز النهرين للدراسات الاستراتيجية في تقديم محور بحثي ضمن الورشة التي أقامها بيت الحكمة والموسومة «الحماية القانونية للمرأة من جرائم الابتزاز الإلكتروني»، والتي تناولت التحديات القانونية والمجتمعية والأمنية المرتبطة بجرائم الابتزاز الإلكتروني، وسبل الوقاية منها.

وقدم المحور المهندس ياسر كريم، متناولاً مفهوم الابتزاز الإلكتروني وتعريفه، وأبرز أنواعه وصوره، فضلاً عن الطرق والأساليب التي يعتمدها المبتزون في استهداف الضحايا واستغلال المعلومات والصور والبيانات الشخصية لتحقيق أهدافهم.

كما تناول المحور أساليب الوقاية من الابتزاز الإلكتروني، وأهمية تعزيز الوعي الرقمي لدى المرأة والمجتمع، وحماية الحسابات والبيانات الشخصية، والتعامل السليم مع محاولات الابتزاز، إلى جانب أهمية الإبلاغ عن الحالات إلى الجهات المختصة وعدم الاستجابة لمطالب المبتزين، مع الحفاظ على الأدلة الرقمية التي يمكن الاستناد إليها في الإجراءات القانونية.

Al-Nahrain Center Participates in Delivering a Session on Protection from Electronic Blackmail

Al-Nahrain Center for Strategic Studies participated in presenting a research session within the workshop organized by Bayt Al-Hikma (The Iraqi Academy of Sciences), entitled “Legal Protection of Women from Electronic Blackmail Crimes.” The workshop addressed the legal, societal, and security challenges associated with electronic blackmail crimes, as well as ways to prevent them.

The session was delivered by Engineer Yasser Karim, who discussed the concept and definition of electronic blackmail, its most prominent types and forms, and the methods and techniques used by blackmailers to target victims and exploit personal information, photographs, and data to achieve their objectives.

The session also highlighted methods of protection against electronic blackmail, emphasizing the importance of enhancing digital awareness among women and society, safeguarding personal accounts and data, and properly dealing with blackmail attempts. It further stressed the importance of reporting such cases to the competent authorities, refraining from responding to the demands of blackmailers, and preserving digital evidence that may be relied upon in legal proceedings.

توطين الصناعات النفطية التحويلية في العراق

نظم مركز النهرين للدراسات الاستراتيجية قسم الدراسات الاقتصادية يوم الاثنين 10 آب 2026 ، ندوة نقاشية بعنوان «توطين الصناعات النفطية التحويلية في العراق – الفرص والتحديات» بمشاركة الخبير النفطي فياض حسن نعمة الموسوي رئيس أكاديمية العراق للطاقة وعدد من المختصين والمهتمين بالشأن الاقتصادي والنفطي و الوزارات ذات العلاقة.

وبحثت الندوة أهمية الانتقال من تصدير النفط الخام إلى تعظيم القيمة المضافة للثروة النفطية عبر تطوير التكرير ومعالجة الغاز والصناعات البتروكيمياوية والخدمات المرتبطة بالطاقة بما يسهم في تنويع الاقتصاد وخلق فرص العمل وتقليل الاستيرادات.

وأكدت الندوة أن الهدف الاستراتيجي يتمثل في تحويل العراق من دولة مصدّرة للنفط الخام ومستوردة للتكنولوجيا والمنتجات إلى مركز إقليمي متكامل لتكرير النفط ومعالجة الغاز والبتروكيمياويات والصناعات والخدمات المرتبطة به من خلال الاستثمار في التكنولوجيا والكفاءات والبنية التحتية وتعزيز الشراكة مع القطاع الخاص.

Localization of Downstream Petroleum Industries in Iraq

The Al-Nahrain Center for Strategic Studies, Economic Studies Department, organized on Monday, 10 August 2026, a discussion seminar entitled “Localization of Downstream Petroleum Industries in Iraq – Opportunities and Challenges”, with the participation of oil expert Fayyad Hassan Nima Al-Mousawi, President of the Iraq Energy Academy, along with a number of specialists, experts, those interested in economic and oil affairs, and representatives of the relevant ministries.

The seminar discussed the importance of moving from the export of crude oil toward maximizing the added value of oil wealth through the development of refining, gas processing, petrochemical industries, and energy-related services, in a manner that contributes to diversifying the economy, creating job opportunities, and reducing imports.

The seminar emphasized that the strategic objective is to transform Iraq from a country that exports crude oil and imports technology and products into an integrated regional hub for oil refining, gas processing, petrochemicals, and related industries and services, through investment in technology, competencies, and infrastructure, and strengthening partnership with the private sector.

مركز النهرين يناقش المخاطر الصحية الناجمة عن تسرب مخلفات الطمر الصحي

عقد قسما الطاقة والمياه والبيىئة وقسم الصحة العامة والأمن الغذائي في مركز النهرين للدراسات الاستراتيجية جلسة بحثية متخصصة بعنوان «المخاطر الصحية الناجمة عن تسرب مخلفات الطمر الصحي»، لبحث التداعيات الصحية والبيئية المترتبة على تسرب الملوثات من مواقع الطمر الصحي وانعكاساتها على صحة الإنسان والمجتمع.

وتناولت الجلسة أبرز المخاطر المحتملة المرتبطة بتسرب العصارة الناتجة عن المخلفات، وتأثيرها في مصادر المياه والتربة والهواء، فضلاً عن احتمالية انتقال الملوثات والمواد الضارة إلى الإنسان عبر السلسلة الغذائية.

كما ناقش المشاركون أهمية تعزيز إجراءات الرقابة الصحية والبيئية على مواقع الطمر، وتطوير آليات المعالجة والتخلص الآمن من النفايات، إلى جانب اعتماد إجراءات وقائية واستباقية للحد من المخاطر الصحية والبيئية، بما يسهم في دعم الأمن الصحي والبيئي في العراق.

Al-Nahrain Center Discusses Health Risks Resulting from Leakage of Landfill Waste

The Energy, Water and Environment Department and the Public Health and Food Security Department at Al-Nahrain Center for Strategic Studies held a specialized research session entitled “Health Risks Resulting from Leakage of Landfill Waste”, to examine the health and environmental repercussions resulting from the leakage of pollutants from landfill sites and their impacts on human and community health.

The session addressed the most prominent potential risks associated with the leakage of leachate resulting from waste, and its impact on water, soil and air sources, as well as the possibility of pollutants and harmful substances reaching humans through the food chain.

The participants also discussed the importance of strengthening health and environmental monitoring procedures at landfill sites, developing mechanisms for the treatment and safe disposal of waste, in addition to adopting preventive and proactive measures to reduce health and environmental risks, in a manner that contributes to supporting health and environmental security in Iraq.

شارك باحثو مركز النهرين للدراسات الاستراتيجية في أعمال المؤتمر العلمي الدولي العاشر لزيارة الأربعين، الذي أقامه مركز كربلاء للدراسات والبحوث للمدة من 7–8 آب/أغسطس 2026، تحت شعار: «زيارة الأربعين.. رسالة حضارية في عصر التحول الرقمي»، بمشاركة نخبة من الباحثين والأكاديميين من داخل العراق وخارجه.

وشهد المؤتمر مشاركة عدد من باحثي مركز النهرين، وهم: الباحث أحمد مزاحم هادي، والباحث قتيبة جابر، والباحث ليث العلاق ،والدكتور علي طعمة، والدكتور خالد البياتي، والباحثة رانية موفق، الذين قدموا بحوثاً ودراسات علمية تناولت أبعاد زيارة الأربعين وانعكاساتها الحضارية والاجتماعية والثقافية والأمنية، إلى جانب بحث دور التحول الرقمي والتقنيات الحديثة في تعزيز حضور الزيارة ورسالتها الإنسانية والحضارية.

Researchers from Al-Nahrain Center for Strategic Studies Participate with Scientific Research Papers in the Tenth International Conference on Arbaeen Pilgrimage

Researchers from Al-Nahrain Center for Strategic Studies participated in the proceedings of the Tenth International Scientific Conference on Arbaeen Pilgrimage, organized by the Karbala Center for Studies and Research from 7–8 August 2026, under the theme: “Arbaeen Pilgrimage... A Civilizational Message in the Era of Digital Transformation,” with the participation of a distinguished group of researchers and academics from inside and outside Iraq.

The conference witnessed the participation of a number of researchers from Al-Nahrain Center, namely: Researcher Ahmed Muzahim Hadi, Researcher Qutaiba Jaber, Researcher Laith Al-Alaq, Dr. Ali Tu’ma, Dr. Khalid Al-Bayati, and Researcher Rania Muwaffaq, who presented scientific research papers and studies addressing the dimensions of the Arbaeen Pilgrimage and its civilizational, social, cultural, and security implications, in addition to examining the role of digital transformation and modern technologies in enhancing the presence of the pilgrimage and its humanitarian and civilizational message.

This participation comes within the framework of Al-Nahrain Center for Strategic Studies’ commitment to supporting researchers and encouraging specialized scientific production, strengthening its presence in scientific and academic forums, as well as contributing to the study of the Arbaeen Pilgrimage as a civilizational and humanitarian phenomenon with multiple dimensions that deserves to be studied and analyzed according to scientific methodologies.

شارك مدير قسم الدراسات الاقتصادية في مركز النهرين للدراسات الاستراتيجية/مستشارية الأمن القومي في حفل إطلاق تقرير “قراءة وتقييم واقع الاقتصاد العراقي للمدة (2020-2025)”، الذي نظمه مركز البيدر للدراسات والتخطيط بالتعاون مع قسم الدراسات الاقتصادية في بيت الحكمة، وذلك على قاعة الخوارزمي اليوم الاحد الموافق 2026/7/26.

وشهدت الفعالية حضور نخبة من الباحثين والأكاديميين والمهتمين بالشأن الاقتصادي، حيث استعرض فريق إعداد التقرير أبرز المؤشرات الاقتصادية والتحديات التي واجهها الاقتصاد العراقي خلال المدة (2020-2025)، إلى جانب عدد من الرؤى والتوصيات الهادفة إلى دعم مسار الإصلاح الاقتصادي وتعزيز التنمية المستدامة.

Al-Nahrain Center for Strategic Studies Participates in the Launch Ceremony of the Iraqi Economy Report at Bayt Al-Hikma

The Director of the Economic Studies Department at the Al-Nahrain Center for Strategic Studies / National Security Advisory participated in the launch ceremony of the report entitled "Reading and Assessing the Reality of the Iraqi Economy for the Period (2020–2025)", organised by Al-Bayder Center for Studies and Planning in cooperation with the Economic Studies Department at Bayt Al-Hikma. The event was held at Al-Khwarizmi Hall on Sunday, 26 July 2026.

The event was attended by a distinguished group of researchers, academics, and those interested in economic affairs. The report preparation team presented the most prominent economic indicators and the challenges faced by the Iraqi economy during the period (2020–2025), in addition to a number of visions and recommendations aimed at supporting the path of economic reform and promoting sustainable development.

The participation of the Al-Nahrain Center comes within the framework of its commitment to following rigorous economic studies and maintaining openness towards think tanks and research centres, in a manner that contributes to supporting decision-making and strengthening scientific cooperation among Iraqi research institutions.
