A joint ILP checking drive was conducted today by the Old Ziro Police and the Office of the SDO, with assistance from the Arunachal ST Bachao Andolan Committee (Lower Subansiri District Unit). During the drive, several cases of ILPs obtained through unauthorized cyber cafés and third-party agents were detected. Necessary verification and action are being initiated as per laid procedures.

STATEMENT BY GENERAL SECRETARY, ASBAC

The General Secretary of the Arunachal ST Bachao Andolan Committee informed that recent field inspections have revealed serious irregularities in the Inner Line Permit (ILP) system, including unauthorized issuance through third parties and lack of proper verification at check gates.

In this regard, the Committee will be filing a Public Interest Litigation before the Hon’ble Court seeking stricter regulation, transparency, and accountability in the ILP system.

On the issue of the demolished masjid at Pare Ami, Ziro, it was clarified that the complaint regarding the alleged illegal structure was initiated by the Committee. Following the demolition, the landowner has now filed a counter case before the Court. The Committee stated that it will address the matter through proper legal channels while upholding the rule of law and maintaining peace and communal harmony.

Today our committee conducted a field inspection at multiple check gates today to assess the enforcement of the Inner Line Permit (ILP) system. During the inspection, several individuals were found violating ILP norms by using permits obtained through third-party agents at inflated prices.

The statements were recorded from some individuals claiming that on-duty police personnel had directed them to specific cyber cafés for processing ILPs.

This revelation has raised serious questions regarding the role of certain officials in facilitating irregular practices.

Today, the Arunachal ST Bachao Andolan Committee visited the Gumto Check Gate, Papum Pare following the 2026 Assam Legislative Assembly Election.
We found a serious situation, many non-APST individuals are entering the state, and credible inputs suggest fake voters from outside are coming for livelihood.

Most alarming:
Multiple forged ILPs were detected
These are being circulated through cyber cafes, indicating an organized scam

This is a direct threat to our land and identity.
We strongly appeal to the Government of Arunachal Pradesh to act immediately.
If ignored, we will be compelled to take necessary steps to protect our land ourselves.
We also appeal to the public to keep supporting us and keep faith in us, we are working day, night. Just wait for few days.

Arunachal ST Bachao Andolan Spokesperson Hands Over Drug Peddler to Police
Arunachal ST Bachao Andolan spokesperson Tana Tamar apprehended a suspected drug peddler and handed the person over to Nirjuli Police Station. He stated that drug peddling has badly affected society and stressed the need for community vigilance.
Tamar clarified that the organization is not against any community, but against illegal activities, and emphasized that strengthening the ILP system is essential to curb such crimes, especially those involving illegal immigrants.
