Creative Waste Management Workshop organized by Green Planet Society in Association with Pukaar NGO and Municipal Council, Zirakpur at Dense forest, Gazipur Road, Zirakpur.
Benchs was made using Eco bricks prepared by Pukaar. President of Pukaar Mrs. Shivani told that they are collecting used plastic bottles and filled with plastic waste to convert them into Eco Bricks. These bricks can be used for various public construction projects.
Mr. Sukhwinder Singh Deol from Municipal Council Swattch Bharat Mission Team explained the RRR project by the government. He told about Reduce, Reuse & Recycle the plastic waste.
Mr. Sanjeev Sethi from Bharat Vikas Parishad, Mr. Ram Gopal (SI, Municipal Council) also participated with their team and worked for betterment of the forest. Dr Karni, Dr Mohit Kaushal, Prashant, Chetanya and Sonam members of Pukaar Ngo and Mr. Jagbir Singh Mehla (Gen. Secretory), KK Soni, Hukam Chand Sharma and other members from Green Planet Society attend the workshop.

Creative Waste Management Workshop organized by Green Planet Society in Association with Pukaar NGO and Municipal Council, Zirakpur at Dense forest, Gazipur Road, Zirakpur.
Benchs was made using Eco bricks prepared by Pukaar. President of Pukaar Mrs. Shivani told that they are collecting used plastic bottles and filled with plastic waste to convert them into Eco Bricks. These bricks can be used for various public construction projects.
The event was followed by a Guided Miyawaki Forest Tour which is developed and maintained by the Green Planet Society. This forest is city’s first man made dense forest with provision of a walking trail and recreational area. President of Green Planet Society, Mr. Sumit Bhardwaz told that they have created this forest using Miyawaki method of urban forestation. Today in fast growing cities, space for plantation is very limited so that pollution and climate change is growing day by day. Urban forests are best solution to this problem. This type of forest is 10X faster in growth and 30X denser than any conventional forest.

The 3R Initiative
The 3R Initiative aims to promote the "3Rs" (reduce, reuse and recycle) globally so as to build a sound-material-cycle society through the effective use of resources and materials. It was agreed upon at the G8 Sea Island Summit in June 2004 as a new G8 initiative. In order to formally launch the 3R Initiative, it was also agreed to hold a ministerial meeting in Japan in the spring of 2005.

✓ Visited Government Senior Secondary school Dayalpura with *Brand Ambassador Shivani*. Motivated students regarding RRR centres and asked them to apply 3Rs in their schools. Told them about giving and taking old things for needs. Swachhata Pledge was taken by all the students and teachers.

✓ Awareness session of Sanitation supervisors held at MC Office. Made awareness regarding RRR Centres. All of them agreed to make this concept successful. Swachhata pledge was taken at the end of session.

To benefit the World Environment Day - 2023 and the LiFE (Lifestyle for Environment) mission, a nationwide Meri LiFE Mera Swachh Shehar campaign has been launched by MoHUA (Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs), Government of India from 15th May to 5th June 2023. Setting up of RRR centers by citizens is being initiated to accelerate the principle of Reduce/Reuse/Recycle.

Under the leadership of Executive Officer Ravneet Singh the RRR center was inaugurated at Bhabat in which reusable items such as old books, clothes, shoes etc. were kept which would be given to the needy people.

At this time Brand Ambassador of Swachh Bharat Mission Shivani, Program Coordinator Sukhwinder Singh Deol, SI Ram Gopal and Ranjit Kumar alongwith Swachh Bharat team were present.
