CIPET in association with The Plastics Export Promotion Council (PLEXCONCIL), jointly organized PLEXCONNECT 2026 on "India's Future in Polymers, Innovation & Export Growth" at Hotel ITC Grand Chola, Chennai, on 30 July 2026.

Prof. (Dr.) Shishir Sinha, Director General, CIPET, moderated the Plenary Session on "Oil Wells to Value Chains", with eminent Panelists from Mr. S. G. Venkatesh, Director (Technical) of CPCL, Dr. Alka Rao, Director - CSIR Institute of Microbial Technology, Mr. K. Sekar, Director, FPL Nippon Molymer India P Ltd. and Mr. K. Mamumdi, Deputy General Manager, M/s Kingfa Science & Technology India Ltd.; and addressed the gathering during the inaugural session with a Special Address on Skill Development and Industry–Academia collaboration."

The event witnessed active participation from the CIPET team comprising Dr. Vishal Verma, Director (Technical Support Services & Business Development); Ms. Mousam Choudhary, Senior Technical Officer (STO); and Mr. Arunav Banerjee, Technical Officer (TO), who contributed to the successful coordination and representation of CIPET during the programme.

Meritorious scholarship to the EWS Students of CIPET for an amount of ₹3.24 lakhs was flagged off by Shri Rajneesh Karnatak, Managing Director & CEO, Bank of India. The 12 numbers of CIPET Diploma students will be benefitted under BOI Social Foundation Trust CSR Scholarship Initiative.
