Returning Lost/ Stolen Mobile Phones to Their Owners 📱

In a small ceremony held at the Office of the Superintendent of Police, lost/ stolen Mobile phones were handed over to their rightful owners. Appreciation certificates were also presented to the personnel of District Police for their dedicated efforts in tracing and recovering these mobile phones..

During 2026 so far, 84 lost/ stolen Mobile phones worth more than ₹18 Lakh have been recovered and returned to their rightful owners.

Superintendent of Police, Sh. Vikash Varma, also briefed importance of promptly reporting and creating awareness about the CEIR portal, which helps in blocking and tracing lost/ stolen Mobile phones.

The District Police remains committed to providing better, faster and citizen centric services to the people of Meghalaya.

Stay away from Drugs.

The South West Garo Hills District Police recovered 1.439 Kg suspected to be Cannabis at Jhunjhuni Tri junction. The police naka team of Kalaichar PP detected one suspected person namely Shri Abdul Zaher (53) r/o Jhagarchar, Kakripara, Mankachar and upon thorough checking, recovered contraband items.

Further necessary action will be taken as per NDPS Act.
