Juice Shop Incident
Beware of Unhygienic Practices at Juice Shops!
Today, we had an alarming experience at our regular juice shop, which we feel compelled to share as a warning to everyone.
As usual, we went to the shop, located opposite Cambridge Shop on RRT Road, Mulund West and ordered a strawberry milkshake. While waiting, my wife noticed a boy taking two pineapples that were hanging outside the shop and bringing them inside for cutting. She observed closely and saw that one of the pineapples was half-eaten by rats, while the other was whole.
She kept an eye on the process, and after about 10 minutes, another boy came out and placed half of a pineapple into a basket used for peeled oranges, sweet limes, and pineapples. This raised her suspicion that it might be the same pineapple that had been partially eaten by rats.
When she informed me, we confronted the shop staff. Initially, they denied any wrongdoing, insisting that the spoiled pineapple had been thrown into the dustbin. However, when we demanded to see the discarded pineapple, we discovered that the half piece kept in the box was indeed the same one eaten by rats.
To hold them accountable, we challenged them to make juice from that pineapple and drink it themselves if they truly believed it was fresh and safe. At this point, they admitted their mistake and begged for forgiveness.
This incident serves as a serious reminder for everyone to be cautious when purchasing juice, especially when the fruit is not cut in front of you. Stay alert and prioritize your health!
