A Serious Question to the Directorate
I am deeply concerned after going through this order issued by the Directorate of School Education Kashmir regarding permission to conduct the PWNSAT (Physics Wallah National Scholarship-cum-Admission Test) awareness programme and examination in Government schools across Kashmir.
The order clearly permits the organisation to conduct career counselling/student awareness seminars and PWNSAT examinations in Government schools, subject to certain conditions such as voluntary participation, no fee, no promotional material and no disruption to regular academic activities.
But my question is simple:
Why should Government schools be used as a platform for any private coaching organisation to conduct an admission test?
At a time when the issue of “dummy admissions” and the growing influence of private coaching institutions is already a serious concern, such permissions raise several questions.
Are we not indirectly sending a clear message to students that they should move towards private coaching institutions?
Why are Government schools being used for such examinations when the primary responsibility of these institutions is to provide quality education within the Government school system itself?
And most importantly, who thought it was appropriate to issue such permission?
I sincerely hope this is not part of a pre-planned arrangement to gradually divert Government-school students towards private coaching institutions. If it is not, then the authorities should come forward and clearly explain the rationale behind this decision.
Government schools should be strengthened, not turned into platforms for promoting private coaching ecosystems.
The Education Department must reconsider such practices in the larger interest of students and Government education.

IMPORTANT MESSAGE FOR STUDENTS & PARENTS
The 10th, 11th & 12th Examination-cum-Renewal Registration Process has started.
We are receiving concerns regarding some schools allegedly collecting excess amounts beyond the actual registration charges. A reasonable transaction charge may be understandable, but collecting ₹100, ₹200, ₹300, ₹400, ₹500 or even more as extra charges is a serious concern.
🙏 I appeal to all schools—please do not put an unnecessary financial burden on students and their parents.
Transparency matters. Students and parents deserve to know the official fee and the exact reason for any additional charge.
As a Human Rights Activist, I request schools to correct such practices. If verified complaints continue, the names of concerned schools and the extra amounts being collected may be brought before the public in the next post.
Education is a right, not an opportunity to exploit students financially.
