Today marks 6 years since my father, Er Rashid, was taken miles away from us, not just from our home, but from his people, his land, his life’s mission.
During these years, he suffered, not only behind the bars of a prison, but in the quiet moments of longing for his loved ones, for the air of his homeland, for the cause he stood for. And we suffered too. as a family, as a people, as a community that knew his heart, his commitment.
Over the years I had to grow up fast, witnessing my mother carry unbearable burdens in silence, pain and isolation, all for the absence of a man who gave everything to stand up for his people.
To be jailed miles away from home is not just physical separation, it’s emotional exile. And still, through it all, we never stopped believing in his strength, in his innocence, in his unwavering spirit.
We will continue to wait, not in silence, but with resilience. We carry forward his voice, his cause, and the love he planted in our hearts.
Justice delayed is not justice served.
