Co-ordination Meeting at BAC Chumbung (02/04/2026)

A co-ordination meeting was conducted today at BAC Chumbung. During the meeting, the BDO Sir highlighted the importance key points:

1. Economical Use of LPG in Households:
The BDO stressed that economical use of LPG is not only a household concern but also a national responsibility during this period of global energy uncertainty. Responsible usage will help ensure equitable distribution and prevent crisis situations.

2. Co-operation During Census 2027:
The BDO Sir, also stressed the importance of households participation and co-operation during the Census 2027 process. Key points included:

Providing accurate and complete information to census enumerators.

Ensuring availability of a responsible family member during the visit

Extending full support to enumerators to ensure timely and error-free data collection.

Raising awareness in the community about the importance of the up-comming 2027 Census.

The meeting concluded with an appeal to all staff to actively spread awareness and ensure community participation for the success of these initiatives.

On 25/03/2026 "One Day at School" program was conducted by staffs of BAC Chumbung at Jhusingthang JHS, Soreng District.
The program was chaired by Mr. Aye Tshering Lepcha,HM & other teachers.The program started with introduction & welcome speech by Mrs.Dipika Gurung.The information about RDD,it's different schemes, policies, services carried out at rural level was explained to students.To promote "Playful method of learning" quiz , different games based on SBM & Gk were conducted.The students & teachers enthusiastically participated and made the program successful.

On 13/03/2026 Agriculture Deptt. under Chumbung Block observed "PM KISAN UTSAV DIWAS" at BAC Chumbung .The Agriculture Deptt represented by Ms Tshering Ma Bhutia ATM(Assistant Technology Manager) Chumbung Block and Mr. Suman Tamang Circle in charge briefly describe about the scheme as well as other scheme carried by said Deptt till date. The program was attended by BAC officials, Agriculture Deptt & Horticulture Deptt staffs along with farmers of nearby areas. An interaction session was also conducted with farmers where they enquire about scheme,it's implication , different facilities provided by said Deptt.

NITI AAYOG for Aspirational District & Block Programmes under Sampoornata Abhiyan 2.0 Visit Chumbung Block.

February 26.2026: State Coordinators (Sikkim) from NITI Aayog Ms JE Jaya Devi and Ms Shivani Srivastava for Aspirational District & Block Programmes under Sampoornata Abhiyan 2.0 visited Chumbung Block under the Aspirational Block Programme to review ongoing developmental initiatives and assess progress on key indicators.

Sites Visited:
1. Health and Wellness Centre (HWC), Sub-Health Centre, Chumbung
2. Government Secondary School, Chumbung
3. Construction of Food Processing Unit and Noodles Unit at Chumbung
4. Rural Mart at Chakung
5. Rong Lyang Farm House Homestay at Chakung

Today, a quarterly coordination meeting was successfully held at BAC, Chumbung, Soreng District.

During the meeting, the Respected BDO Sir outlined the key roles and responsibilities of BAC staff, stressing the importance of effective implementation of maintaining accountability in all official duties. He emphasized coordinated teamwork, timely ex*****on of assigned tasks, and transparent service delivery to ensure better outcomes for the public.

The session concluded with a renewed commitment from all staff members to work diligently and uphold their responsibilities with sincerity and dedication.

One day training on Village Disaster Management Plan at Chakung GPU, under Chumbung Block, Soreng District.

Special Gram Sabha meetings were held at 14-Chakung GPU and 15-Mendogaon Borbotey GPU under Sampoornata Abhiyan 2.0. The events were chaired by the respective Panchayat Presidents and attended by dignitaries like BDO Chumbung, CDPO Chumbung, AE Chumbung, Aspirational Block Fellow, Medical Team, panchayat members, and stakeholders.

Special Gram Sabha meetings in both GPUs were productive, focusing on the 6 KPIs under Sampoornata Abhiyan 2.0 (NITI AAYOG). Key officials and stakeholders attended, highlighting collaborative efforts towards development goals.

Launch of Sampoornata Abhiyan 2.0

Aspirational Soreng District/Aspirational Chumbung Block, Sikkim launched ‘Sampoornata Abhiyan 2.0’ today, a 3-month campaign running from 28th January to 14th April, 2026, to undertake a sustained effort to achieve saturation of 5 Key Performance Indicators in Aspirational Districts and 6 Key Performance Indicators in Aspirational Blocks.

Sampoornata Abhiyan 2.0 was inaugurated by Hon’ble Area MLA, Shri. Aditya Tamang (Golay) in presence of District Magistrate Shri Dhiraj Subedi, SCS, Additional District Magistrate (ADM Soreng) Shri DR Bista, Hon’ble Panchayat Presidents and Members of Chumbung Block, BDOs, All Departmernt HODs, Aspirational Block Officials, Aspirational Block Fellow, SHGs, Stakeholders and Office Staffs.

The 5 identified KPIs across Aspirational Districts under ‘Sampoornata Abhiyan 2.0’ are:
1. Proportion of live babies weighted at birth.
2. Tuberculosis (TB) case notification rate (Public and Private Institutions) against estimated cases
3. Percentage of Anganwadis centres/Urban PHCs reported to have conducted at least one Village Health Sanitation & Nutrition day / Urban Health Sanitation & Nutrition day respectively in the last one month
4. Percentage of schools with functional girl’s toilets.
5. Percentage of animals vaccinated
NITI Aayog has provided a list of activities that Districts and Blocks may organise as part of the launch of Sampoornata Abhiyan 2.0. In addition, Districts and Blocks are encouraged to conduct regular outreach activities to sustain the campaign’s momentum and foster ongoing participation.

To make this effort successful and to deliver a tangible impact on the ground:
1. Districts/Blocks will develop a 3-month Action Plan to saturate the given indicators.
2. Districts/Blocks will track progress on saturation each month.
3. Implement awareness and behavior change campaigns.
4. District-level Officers will conduct concurrent monitoring field visits.
