Gathered at the esteemed State Institute of Health and Family Welfare in Shimla, women from diverse self-help groups recently graced the inaugural session of the Entrepreneurship Development Program/Capacity Building initiative. A testament to their resilience and determination, these women hailed from seven different Urban Local Bodies, reflecting a tapestry of strength and ambition. The event was graced by esteemed dignitaries including Shri Surinder Chauhan, the Mayor of MC Shimla, along with the esteemed presence of Smt. Uma Kaushal, Deputy Mayor, and the worthy Commissioner, Shri Bhupender Kumar Attri. As they embarked on this transformative journey, the air was filled with promise and hope, echoing the aspirations of these budding entrepreneurs. With a clear objective of empowering them through the avenues of the National Urban Livelihoods Mission (NULM), the training aimed to equip these visionaries with the necessary tools to carve out sustainable livelihood opportunities. Their presence resonated with a shared commitment to progress, serving as a beacon of inspiration for women everywhere, and heralding a future brimming with possibilities.

Sh. Rahul Kapoor, Joint Secretary, MoHUA visited Shimla Municipal Corporation, Himachal Pradesh on 23rd Nov. 2023.

Worthy Joint Secretary, DAY-NULM & PM SVANidhi, Shri Rahul Kapoor visited Shimla Municipal Corporation to have an interaction with Self Help Group members, PM SVNidhi beneficiaries, SEP Beneficiaries, Urban Homeless Shelter residents.

Worthy Sir conducting a comprehensive review of the mission implementation progress of the State and visiting ULB, addressed the need and benefits of Mission for urban poor, discussed issues and concerns of SHG members and Homeless Shelters.

Additional Director UD Himachal Pradesh Sh. Jagan Thakur and Commissioner, Municipal Corporation Shimla Sh. Bhupender Kumar Attri welcomed Sh. Rahul Kapoor Sir.

The Joint Secretary interacted with the SHGs having bank linkages and SHGs not having bank linkages, Sir takes feedback from the SHG members regarding SHG activities, book keeping, records, precedings of SHGs, enterprises, bank linkages, problem of bank linkages, other social issues and hurdles facing by SHGs, convergence benefits, support, demand, requirements and expectations from DAY-NULM.

JS sir visited Book cafe run and managed by ALF at Chowra Maidan, also appreciated the display of hand made products of SHG members.

During his visit he visited the Chowra Maidan Labour Hostel cm Homeless Shelter & Auckland Homeless Shelter/ Rehan Basera. Overviewed and checked all facilities and the books of records under the shelter. Joint Secretary Sir had a discussion with the homeless as well as the staff of the Shelters and takes feedback from homeless people with future expectations and demands for Shelters.
