Babru Bhan, affectionately known to all simply as Babru, was born into a military family at Bharawas village in Gurgaon district of then undivided Punjab. Bharawas is now in Rewari district.

Babru grew up listening to the stories of valour of 'Veer' Ahirs from his father Major Bhagwan Singh, a decorated soldier who served with distinction in the British Indian Army and was awarded the Order of British Empire (OBE) during World War I. Young Babru knew he was destined to be a soldier. He did his matriculation from BS Ahir High School, Rewari. He graduated in the science stream from the prestigious St Stephen’s College, Delhi, and was selected as a Direct Entry Graduate. He served onboard HMS Devonshire as Midshipman for two years and was commissioned into the Indian Navy, the multi-dimensional combat force for blue waters tasks, on January 1, 1951. Water deficient Ahirwal produces a shipman, and daredevil at that, what a feat!

1962 में चीन से करारी हार के बाद चीन भारतीय सीमा पर बहुत हावी था i
1967 में नाथू ला पोस्ट पर नापाक चीनी चढ़ आये और भारतीय फौज को डराने लगे i
उस समय चंद्रवंशी अहीर क्षत्रियों के प्रसिद्ध कोसली ठिकाने के यदुवंशी जंगी-सरदार Lt. Col राव साहिब राय सिंह यादव जी जो 2nd Grenadiers की एक टुकड़ी का नेतृत्व कर रहे थे ने चीनियों को ललकारा और उनकी फौजी टुकड़ी चीनियों के सामने डट गयी i
इस टुकड़ी में यदुवंशी अहीर, राजपूत, सिक्ख आदि कई शूरवीर सैनिक थे।
आमने-सामने की जंग शुरू हो गयी, कर्नल राय सिंह जी यादव के पेट में मशीन-गन का बर्स्ट लगा और वो गंभीर रूप से घायल हो गये ,लेकिन इस जंगबाज़ ने मोर्चा नहीं छोड़ा और चीनियों को मार भगाया i
इस लड़ाई के बाद चीनी पीछे हट गये और 1962 की हार का बदला ले लिए गया i
असाधारण वीरता और सरदारी के लिए राव राय सिंह यादव जी को बहादुरी के दूसरे सबसे बड़े सम्मान, महावीर चक्र से नवाज़ा गया i
इनके अतरिक्त सरदार मेजर हरभजन सिंह जी को भी असीम साहस दिखाने क लिए मरणोपरांत महावीर चक्र से नवाज़ा गया।

ब्रिगेडियर राय सिंह जी का जन्म 1925 को हरियाणा में चंद्रवंशी अहीर क्षत्रियों के प्रसिद्ध जंगी ठिकाने में राव साहिब गणपत सिंह जी यादव के यहाँ हुआ।
इनके पिताश्री भी सेना में थे।
सेना में ब्रिगेडियर पद से रिटायर्ड वीर यदुपूत ब्रिगेडियर राय सिंह जी का 2017 में स्वर्गवास हो गया।
आज बॉलीवुड की "पलटन" नाम की एक फिल्म रिलीज़ हुई है जो कि इस अहीर रणबांकुरे के शौर्यगाथा पर आधारित है जिसमे कर्नल राय सिंह जी यादव का किरदार अर्जुन रामपाल निभा रहे है ।
आज आप अगर थियेटर में बैठ "पलटन" मूवी देखें तो शूरवीर अहीर क्षत्रियों की जांबाज़ी और बलिदान को एक बार ज़रूर याद करें क्योंकि इन शूरवीर अहीरों के कारण ही हम आज इस लायक हुए हैं कि थियेटर में बैठ उनकी जांबाज़ी को देखेंगे।

हाल ही में राष्ट्रपति के अंगरक्षकों (PBG) में भर्ती का मुद्दा उठा और कई तबकों ने इसे परम्परा की दुहाई दे कर जस्टिफाई किया /उचित बताया i
अगर बात परम्परा की है तो पूरी दुनिया में सबसे पहले बनी जातीय रेजिमेंट का नाम "नारायणी सेना " है जो श्रीकृष्ण के काल में यादवों की पलटन थी i इस से पहले किसी भी दस्तावेज में किसी जातीय पलटन का दुनिया के किसी भी ग्रन्थ में कोई उल्लेख नहीं है i अगर फौज परम्परा की दुहाई पर अपनी रेजिमेंट प्रणाली को जीवित रखना चाहती है तो इस में सबसे पहला हक़ यदुवंशियों का होना चाहिए i जो रेजिमेंट मुश्किल 100 साल पहले पैदा हुई हैं अगर वो परम्परा हैं,तो 5000 हजारवर्ष पहले महाभारत काल में जो यादवों की रेजिमेंट "नारायणी सेना" थी उस परम्परा के मुताबिक हमारी रेजिमेंट क्यों नहीं ???

Navy celebrate on 4th December as Navy day to commemorate the success of operation Trident in 1971.

When war broke out between India and Pakistan due to cruelties of Pakistan on Bangladeshi. The then Indian prime minister Smt. Indira Gandhi ji declared this as war on India. while the army and the air force carried out attacks along the border it was the navy that was given the strategic task of denying both east and the west pakistan excess to war supplies
( East and west Pakistan are two different geographical entities more than 1600 miles apart and the only way by which Pakistani forces could be sustained was through the sea}
The aim was to block both parts of Pakistan from getting any Naval interaction.

INS Vikrant keep hold on eastern Pakistan while the Karachi harbor was heavily attacked. Three days later operation Trident was followed by operation Python. These attacks crippled the Pakistan Economy as Karachi harbour was strategic port for all Pakistan Business.

भाड़ावास रेवाड़ी में स्थित एक गौरवशाली और विशाल ठिकाना है यदुवंशी अहीर क्षत्रियों का।

इस ठिकाने के यदुवंशी जागीरदारों को चौधरी साहेब की पदवी थी।

भाड़ावास के चौधरियों के पास पूरे पंजाब प्रांत (हरियाणा, पंजाब, हिमाचल) में पटियाला रियासत के बाद सबसे ज़्यादा ज़मीनात थे।

इसी ठिकाणे के चौधरी साहिब प्रभुदयाल सिंह जी यादव को रईस-ए-आज़म की पदवी थी एवं इन्होनें अपने शासन के दौरान कई हवेलियों और प्रसिद्ध पातालेश्वर महादेव मंदिर और राधा-कृष्ण मंदिर का निर्माण करवाया था।

फौजी अफ़सरो के नाम से मशहूर इसी चौधरी खानदान में commodore चौधरी बबरुभान सिंह यादव का जन्म हुआ था जिन्हें 1971 में हुए जंग में असीम शौर्य दिखाने के कारण महावीर चक्र से विभूषित किया गया था।

इन्होंने अकेले ही अपने दम पर पाकिस्तान के कराची को दहला दिया था इसिलए इन्हें "Killer of Karachi" भी कहा जाता है।

ये नौसेना के सर्वप्रथम रणबाँकुरे अफ़सर थे एवं प्रथम भारतीय अफ़सर थे जिन्हें महावीर चक्र जैसे महान पुरस्कार से नवाज़ा गया था।

हर वर्ष 4 दिसंबर को इनके सम्मान में भारतीय नौसेना दिवस मनाया जाता है।

The valiant land of Ahirwal has produced many heroes. None more valorous than Commodore Babru Bhan Yadav, Maha Vir Chakra, born in a military family of Bharawas village, Rewari district, his father Major Bhagwan Singh Yadav, MBE a veteran of both World Wars. Colonel Mahendra Singh Yadav was his elder brother; the latter's sons including Colonel Dalip Yadav and Air Commodore Rakesh Yadav. In fact the family's military lineage dates back to the Mughal period. A Stephanian, he passed his BSc in 1947 being commissioned in the Navy in 1951.

Yadav led the brilliant missile attack against Karachi harbour and Pakistani naval forces in 1971, code named Operation Trident, as the commander of the 25th Missile Squadron comprising INS Nipat (Lieutenant Commander BN Kavina, VrC), INS Nirghat (Lieutenant Commander IJ Sharma, AVSM, VrC ) and INS Veer (Lieutenant Commander OP Mehta, VrC NM). These Osa-1 class missile boats were each armed with four SS-N-2B Styx anti-ship missiles.

Designed by the Russians for coastal defence, with a limited range the Indian Navy planned to use them in an offensive role against the enemy by towing them to a position near the enemy coast. Their sister ship INS Vidyut was to remain on patrol off Dwarka to provide cover for the task force. The Petya class anti-submarine corvettes INS Kiltan (Commander KP Gopal Rao, MVC, VSM) and INS Katchall were to provide communications and indicate suitable targets with their superior radar as well as give anti-submarine cover.

The task force approaching Karachi made contact with the destroyer PNS Khaiber at about 2245 hours Pakistan Time on December 4, INS Nirghat launching two missiles and sinking her. Thereafter INS Nipat fired two missiles sinking the merchant vessel Venus Challenger carrying ammunition and crippling her es**rt the destroyer PNS Shah Jehan. The strike group had sailed to within 50 km of Karachi. INS Veer was ordered to engage a contact on her starboard (right) bow. The Styx missile fired by her struck the minesweeper PNS Muhafiz on the port (left) side disintegrating her. The crew didn't even get time to send off a distress signal!

Apprehending a reaction by the enemy air force, Yadav now ordered a withdrawal by the other two boats to the pre-determined rendezvous with the tanker INS Poshak. Cool as a cucumber throughout, he now took Nipat to within 25 km of the shore, firing a Styx at the Keamari oil terminal setting off a spectacular blaze. The hard training Babru Bhan had put his squadron through had paid off handsomely.

This set the stage for the second missile attack on Karachi after which what was left of the Pakistani fleet never again ventured out to sea. The Indian Navy was in total control of the seas.

My Tribute to Commodore Babru Bhan Yadav(MVC) who led the operation Trident and set Karachi Harbour on fire..His code for the victory was-'Angar'..The Karachi port blew into flames and the oil tanks were destroyed.4th Dec 1971 Operation Trident.Commodore BB Yadav too belonged to the same village of Major Shaitan Singh (PVC)(Battle of Rezangla 1962).Osa Missile boats were rejected by Pakistani Navy and they didn't expect that these boats would be terrific enough for offensive strike.I remember Maj Gen Gagandeep Bakshi and Aditya Bakshi gifted me war comics written by Bakshi sir on Operation Trident when I paid him visit at his home on 11th november 2015 in Gurgaon,Haryana.Admiral Nanda appreciated Cmde Yadav.Cmde Yadav was then a Lt Cdr during Operation Trident.This operation had completely shocked Pakistan Navy and they never thought of this..Admiral Nanda had a burning desire to take revenge of Dwarka Naval Attack which was done by Pakistan in 1965 war but our Navy was kept out from the war.
