International Women’s Day Celebrated at Town Hall Pulwama, March 10, 2026:
International Women’s Day was celebrated at Town Hall Pulwama under the guidance of Mr. Azhar Amin (JKAS), District Social Welfare Officer Pulwama, along with his team. The programme was organized by the Social Welfare Department Pulwama.
The event witnessed participation from various welfare units including SAKHI – One Stop Centre Pulwama, Sankalp Hub for Empowerment of Women, Child Helpline, and the District Child Protection Unit.
The programme was graced by the Chief Guest, Ms. Burida Majeed, District Programme Officer Pulwama, along with ASI Shaista (Police Station Pulwama) and officials from different departments. The event also saw active participation from Social Welfare Department staff, ICDS Supervisors, Anganwadi Workers, ASHA Workers, and other stakeholders.
On the occasion, DSWO Pulwama, Mr. Azhar Amin, highlighted various initiatives and welfare schemes aimed at empowering women, particularly those implemented through the One Stop Centre Pulwama and the Sankalp Hub for Empowerment of Women. He emphasized the importance of strengthening institutional support systems to ensure safety, dignity, and empowerment of women.
Officials from different departments also shared their perspectives on the importance of gender equality, women’s empowerment, and the collective responsibility of society to promote the rights and well-being of women.
During the programme, women achievers from District Pulwama were felicitated and prizes were distributed in recognition of their achievements and contributions to society.
The event concluded with a renewed commitment to promoting awareness, empowerment, and equal opportunities for women across all spheres of life.
