The city of Pimpri‐Chinchwad is situated towards the north of Pune and about 145 km from Mumbai, the capital city of Maharashtra and 12 km from Lohegaon airport. It is predominantly an industrial area, which has developed primarily during the last four decades. The process of urbanization of this area began in 1954 with the establishment of Hindustan Antibiotics, a public sector pharmaceutical und

ertaking. With each passing year, the landscape saw significant changes, long stretches of farmland giving way to enclosed factory campuses. Today, Pimpri‐Chinchwad is a major industrial centre of the Pune region and of the entire country. Pimpri-Chinchwad as a major industrial hub; hosts one of the biggest industrial zones in Asia. This town is home to the Indian operations of major automobile companies like TATA Motors (formerly TELCO), Bajaj Auto, Kinetic Engineering, Force Motors (formerly Bajaj Tempo) and Mercedes Benz. In addition to this, several heavy industries such as Thermax, Forbes-Marshall, ThyssenKrupp, GEA Ecoflex, Alfa Laval, KSB Pumps, SKF & Sandvik Asia have their manufacturing units in the town.

पिंपरी चिंचवड महानगरपालिकेच्या ‘अ’ क्षेत्रीय कार्यालयांतर्गत प्रभाग क्रमांक १५ मधील सर्वे क्रमांक ७/१/१ब, आकुर्डी येथील हॉटेल मॅजेस्टिक परिसरातील अनधिकृत आरसीसी बांधकामे व पत्राशेड यांच्यावर निष्कासन कारवाई करण्यात आली.

जागतिक पर्यावरण दिनानिमित्त ५ जून २०२६ रोजी दुर्गादेवी टेकडी येथे १००० वृक्ष लागवडीद्वारे "स्वच्छ व हरित पिंपरी चिंचवड" अभियानाची भव्य सुरुवात होत आहे.

एक झाड म्हणजे केवळ हिरवाई नव्हे, तर स्वच्छ हवा, जैवविविधतेचे संरक्षण, हवामान बदलावर मात आणि भावी पिढ्यांसाठी सुरक्षित भविष्याची हमी आहे.

चला, पर्यावरण संवर्धनाची जबाबदारी स्वीकारूया आणि आपल्या शहराला अधिक हिरवे, स्वच्छ व शाश्वत बनवण्यासाठी एकत्र येऊया.
