| Second Batch Completion – VoiceInMind Internship Training Programme (April 2026)

We are pleased to share the successful completion of the second batch of Shalinis (aged 18–25, from Class 11 to undergraduate/postgraduate level) under the Udayan Shalini Fellowship Program, delivered through the VoiceInMind Internship Training Programme.

The structured intervention focused on building job readiness, digital literacy, and professional communication skills among young women from diverse academic and social backgrounds.

What stands out from the cohort feedback is the practical, application-oriented learning:
Participants reported tangible improvement in:
• Report writing and structuring information clearly
• Professional communication, especially email writing
• Resume building and presentation skills
• Use of digital tools such as MS Office and Google Sheets
• Confidence in expressing ideas and engaging in professional settings

Several participants also demonstrated peer learning and initiative, applying their learnings beyond sessions and sharing knowledge within their networks—an indicator of deeper engagement.

A key takeaway has been the shift from an academic mindset to workplace readiness, with participants gaining clarity on employer expectations and navigating professional environments with greater confidence.
The feedback reflects not just skill acquisition, but holistic growth—confidence, communication, and career awareness.

We extend our sincere gratitude to Udayan Care for the opportunity to collaborate on the Udayan Shalini Fellowship Program and contribute to this meaningful journey.

We look forward to building more such impact-driven learning experiences.

| Today’s dialogue session by VoiceInMind explored a deeply significant theme:
“Beyond the Visible: Decoding the Psychological Landscape, Behavioural Responses, and Pathways to Recovery in Child Victimhood.”
We were privileged to have Sania S. lead this powerful discussion, bringing together legal insight and trauma-informed understanding to unpack the complex realities of child victimhood.

The session highlighted how trauma goes far beyond visible harm—reshaping a child’s emotions, trust, cognition, and sense of safety. It emphasized a critical shift in perspective: behaviour is not the problem, but often a survival response.

Key reflections from the session included:
The profound impact of trauma on brain development and emotional regulation
Recognising signs such as withdrawal, aggression, and reenactment as expressions of distress
The importance of early intervention, safe spaces, and non-judgmental listening
Bridging the gap between legal frameworks and ground realities through collective responsibility
The discussion also reinforced the need for trauma-informed, survivor-centric approaches across families, institutions, and communities.

Grateful to all participants for engaging, reflecting, and contributing to this meaningful conversation.

At VoiceInMind, we remain committed to creating spaces that dialogue, engage, and empower.

| VoiceInMind successfully concluded its one-day National Virtual Workshop on
“Invisible Chains: A Psychosocial and Legal Analysis of Child Trafficking and Forced Begging” — as part of our ongoing Child Protection & Safeguarding Series.

The session opened by unpacking the idea of “invisible chains” — the deeply embedded, often overlooked systems that continue to enable the exploitation of children across contexts.

Our speaker, Dr. Harsh*ta Harshu, delivered a compelling, multidimensional session that critically examined the ecosystem of child trafficking. The discussion spanned across multiple forms of exploitation — including forced begging, commercial sexual exploitation, bride trafficking, child labour, and the rising threat of online abuse.

Equally significant was the exploration of the psychological consequences on survivors — including trauma responses such as learned helplessness, dissociation, and PTSD — underscoring the urgent need for trauma-informed interventions.

The session further engaged with key legal frameworks, including the (BNS), , and the , while critically reflecting on the persistent gap between legislation and on-ground implementation.

We were enriched by insightful contributions from our presenters:

1. Sania S. — highlighting systemic legal challenges and enforcement gaps
2. Jinsa Joseph — examining rescue and rehabilitation efforts, including Operation Muskaan/Smile
3. Dr. Gayathri Ranjith — bringing a social work perspective through structured frameworks such as Rescue–Rehabilitation–Reintegration (R3) and Identify–Intervene–Assess (I2A)

The workshop concluded with a powerful collective reflection on rehabilitation, reintegration, community vigilance, and the critical need for multi-stakeholder collaboration to disrupt cycles of trafficking.

We extend our sincere gratitude to our partners — THE DALAI LAMA FOUNDATION, INC. and KRK Law Classes — for their continued support in advancing this important dialogue.

To everyone who joined us — your engagement, questions, and commitment reaffirm that change is possible when awareness meets action.
