It was 11.30 in the night. We were returning from Dilli Haat. To avoid traffic, we thought of taking a short cut from Kidwai Nagar. Everything was going on smooth, somehow we lost our track :( :( :( It was getting hard to find our way out with no one to ask for directions. Suddenly a broken edifices of stone caught our eyes. The structure appeared so beautiful on the full moon night that we immediately wanted to stop for sometime, go close to it, find out its name, learn more about it. But considering the odd hour, we decided to come back to the place later in daylight.

After almost 2 months, we finally managed to visit the place - DARYA KHAN TOMB.

People talk in superlative terms of places they have been to, even if the sites visited have nothing out of the ordinary to offer, the very fact that one has made the effort of traveling seems to invest the places with great significance. Yet, the same people ignore masterpieces of heritage located virtually in their backyard.

"Teen Burji" is a magnificent monument located next to Bhikaji Cama Place in the village Mohammadpur. Teen Burji derives its name from the three domes on its top. Very little is known about the monument... It looks like the monument dates back to Lodi Era and the size and height suggest it could have been a mosque.

The monument has been badly encroached left, right and centre; not long ago some local builders started demolishing certain parts of it... No matter how many laws are framed and no matter how stringent the punishment for violations of the said laws, no one can protect our heritage if those living cheek by jowl with heritage structures do not bother.
