*My & Jhanak,'s first Visharad student* in 1999

A student by definition, perhaps. But in reality, she has always been much more than that — my right hand and a cherished member of my family.

Words can never truly express the bond we share.

From the days of completing her Visharad to becoming a witness and companion in every joy, struggle, achievement and challenge of Jhanak's journey, Snehal has always stood by my side.

As she grew, she did not merely learn dance from me. She absorbed my values, my principles, my way of thinking and my approach towards art and life itself.

As a teacher, I have seen those values reflected in every step she has taken, every responsibility she has embraced, and every success she has earned.

I have also watched her deep love for the Marathi language, her writing, and her passion for literature since she was very young. I have always admired these qualities in her. However, the work she has undertaken today is far greater than personal achievement. Through her efforts to connect Bharatanatyam with Marathi literature, saint traditions and cultural heritage, she is creating something that will inspire future generations. It is a challenging path, but the sincerity, dedication and conviction with which she pursues it make me immensely proud.

*Today, seeing her receive the prestigious Sahyadri Ratna Award from the Government of Maharashtra fills my heart with joy and pride*.

This recognition is not only a celebration of her achievements but also a victory of the values, dedication, sincerity and perseverance that have become a part of her personality over the years.

Of course, we have always acknowledged and appreciated her work. But when society recognizes and honours that work in such a meaningful way, the joy a teacher feels is beyond words.

I know this honour will strengthen her confidence, fuel her passion and inspire her to continue contributing even more meaningfully to society and the field she loves.

Today, I am immensely proud of my daughter in spirit.
