Under the Cherry Tree is for art, culture and book lovers. It is for those who love to read, paint and draw and parents who want to inculcate these habits in their tiny tots and especially for those gifted children who have already got into the good habit of reading :)
As a child born and brought up in Mumbai, I was lucky to have spent my childhood in a green haven right in the middle of the city
... living in a spacious bungalow with a proper garden, badminton court, backyard, garage, outhouse for servants and more, it was a dream setting! And what's more we had a proper cherry tree in our garden, underneath which I would sit hours buried in books, reading all that I could from books, comics, magazines... and thus the name! Many have expressed doubts about a cherry tree growing in Mumbai, India but believe me I have had the fruits too while reading my books... ripe red cherries plucked directly from the tree, washed under the tap in the garden and devoured whenever I felt hungry but lazy to go inside the house for a snack. I have been planning to go to that house again to see if the cherry tree still exists and click a picture too and will do that someday soon... till then just too happy to 'cherrish' the memories :)
