NKare - Bringing Back The Smile

Cyber-attacks, hacks and security breaches on the internet are no longer an exception. This number is increasing and organizations are incurring higher costs in dealing with these cyber security incidents. Therefore, Nkare social cell took an initiative to guide the school students (9th Class) on the modern-day essential topic of cyber security. Since the event was offline every Covid related precaution was duly adhered and the students gave positive feedback after the event.

Presently, Covid vaccines have gotten the paramount of importance of all things, vaccines had already been circulating in the country since the inception of year 2021 but the age group of 15-18 years had been waiting for it past a long time. Hence, Nkare social cell vowed to get the young one’s vaccinated for free who were vulnerable to the deadly virus until the day of vaccination. It organised a vaccination drive in association with Surya Hospital on 30th January,2022 in the Inorbit mall (Customer bridge). Covaxin vaccine was used for the vaccination drive and the participants could either take the first or the second dose as vaccination. Arranging such a drive seemed challenging at first, but with the conjunction of teacher, volunteers and staff of the surya hospital and Inorbit mall the drive concluded to its desirable fruition

As the saying goes “Your smallest actions can bring tornados, your blood can heal a person”. Blood is essential to help patients survive surgeries, cancer treatment, chronic illnesses, and traumatic injuries. This lifesaving care starts with one person making a generous donation. The need for blood is constant. But only about 3% of age-eligible people donate blood yearly. To bridge this concerning gap NKare social cell conducted “Drops of Blood” a Blood donation drive in association with the Rotaract club (Borivali-Kandivali) on 26th Jan, 2022 (Republic Day).

We all know the cheers and holiness Ganesh Chaturthi brings to the life of its devotees. That also brings the crowds to a jam in the prime days of visarjan. As devotees of lord Ganesh and socially responsible citizens, Since 10 year’s volunteers from NKare have been helping Mumbai’s traffic police in managing the crowd during the 1st, 5th and 10th Visarjan days. In 2021 because of Covid restrictions Nkare had only fully vaccinated volunteers at their side. The effortful activity carved a smile in the heart of Mumbai’s traffic police.

Nkare Social Cell has witnessed its eminent 12th year and it still stands strong on its tagline WORKING WITH A SMILE TO BRING BACK A SMILE. Embracing young energetic volunteers and resourceful teachers Nkare social cell works diligently towards building social norms for a better society.
To live upon its zestful tagline, the academic year 2021-22 was commenced with an exuberant guest lecture in the month of August by Mr. Vyanktaesh K*t (Vice President of vedika education trust) and Ms. Anjali Jha (Associated vice president of vedika education trust) on the topic of “Social Work – The need of hour’’. The event aimed to introduce various activities performed by Vedika education trust for societal purposes and to spread awareness regarding their campaigns among the young and visionaries of Nagindas Khandwala College.
