On the occasion of World Autism Awareness Day NIEPID Regional Centre, Navi Mumbai organized a 1-day online Continuing Rehabilitation Education (CRE) program on “Empowering Individuals with Autism through Inclusive and Accessible Systems” on 2nd April 2026. A total of 181 RCI-registered rehabilitation professionals participated in the program.

PAY AUTENTION in collaboration with NIEPID celebrated World Autism Awareness Day on 2nd April 2026 at Community Hall, Tata Power Colony Chembur, Mumbai. The event included the following:
1. Keynote addressed by Shri Himal Tiwari, CHRO, Chief- Sustainability and CSR, Tata Power
2. Panel discussion on Every Life has a Value: Bridging Gaps to build a continum of Support & Care moderated bh Ms Foram Nagori
3. Dance movement & Yoga Practice Demo
4. Cultural Performances by NIEPID students
The program also includes various activity zones, Sensory Integration Therapy zone, Psychological Assessment camp etc.
More than 220 professionals, volunteers, Divyangjan and their parents participated in the program.

On the occasion of Unani Day 2026, NIEPID has signed an MoU with Central Council for Research in Unani Medicine (CCRUM), Ministry of AYUSH, Government of India at YB Chavan Centre, Mumbai. The MoU is signed and exchanged by Dr. BV Ramkumar, Director, NIEPID and Dr. N. Zahir Ahmad, Director General, CCRUM in the gracious presence of Shri Prataprao Jadhav, Hon'ble Minister of State (Independent Charge), Ministry of AYUSH and Minister of State, Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, Government of India. Also, Shri Vaidya R. Koteja, Secretary, Ministry of AYUSH, Govt. of India and Ms. Monalisa Dash, Joint Secretary, Government of India were present during the occasion.
The collaboration between NIEPID and CCRUM will pave the way for conducting collaborative interdisciplinary Research and expand the scope of Rehabilitation Practices for Persons with Intellectual & Developmental Disabilities (Divyangjan) though Unani Medicine.

CHAMPS on RAMP
During the "SAMANVAY “ event organized by National Institute of Fashion Technology (NIFT) Mumbai on 22nd January 2026, Divyang students of Regional Centre Navi Mumbai participated as Showstopper for Inclusive Fashion Show and performed the Ramp Walk with designer and accessible clothes designed by NIFT Navi Mumbai.
Shri Giriraj Singh, Hon'ble Union Minister, Ministry of Textile, Government of India graced the event as the Chief Guest. He applauded the performance of NIEPID students.

राष्ट्रीय बौद्धिक दिव्यांगजन सशक्तिकरण संस्थान द्वारा "निपिड दिशा पाठ्यक्रम पर प्रशिक्षण" विषय पर तीन दिवसीय निःशुल्क सतत पुनर्वास कार्यक्रम (सी.आर.ई.) का आयोजन राज्य दिव्यांगजन आयोग, गोवा और जय वकील फाउंडेशन मुंबई के सहयोग से गोवा राज्य शैक्षिक अनुसंधान और प्रशिक्षण परिषद् (जी.एस.सी.ई.आर.टी.) गोवा में दिनांक 7 से 9 जनवरी 2026 तक सफलतापूर्वक किया गया।
कार्यक्रम में कुल 141 विशेष शिक्षकों ने सक्रिय रूप से भाग लिया।

NIEPID Regional Centre Navi Mumbai organized a workshop on "Nutrition & Wellness for Persons with Neuro-developmental Disabilities" in collaboration with TATA Power on 23.12.2025. Ms. Vandita and Ms. Rupali Yadav, founders of IYUREVED, shared expertise as Resource Persons on nutrition and wellness.
The event was attended by 70 participants, including parents, PwDs, and teacher-trainees.
