The Deputy Commissioner & Chairman, DDMA, Mon handed over Ex-gratia relief to the Next of Kin of 8 deceased persons who lost their lives due to the landslide at Thamnan Ward, Mon Town on 19th July 2026.

The Ex-gratia amount of ₹4,00,000/- per deceased was handed over as per SDRF norms

The deceased are:
1. Late Thenkhao Konyak
2. Late Tingyuh Konyak
3. Late Taotun Konyak
4. Late Toithron Konyak
5. Late Kenlong Konyak
6. Late Lunglei L. Konyak
7. Late Pangho Konyak
8. Late Pomei Konyak

The relief was handed over in the presence of ADC & CEO, DDMA Mon, President, Konyak Union(KU) and President, Konyak Students’ Union(KSU) MyGov Nagaland MyGovIndia

Glimpses of 77th Republic Day celebrated in Mon District HQ, Chief Guest Shri. P Paiwang Konyak, Hon’ble Minister, Health & Family Welfare Government of Nagaland unfurled the National Flag at local ground Mon in presence of Shri. Wennyei Konyak, NCS, Deputy Commissioner Mon, Shri. Kanchan Kumar Kandpal, IPS, Superintendent of Police Mon and all other HoDs, followed by inspection of parade, Republic Day speech, march past by the Contingents from 42 Assam Rifles/ 42 Assam Rifles, Pipe Band/ DEF Mon/ Village Guards/Ex-Servicemen/GHSS Mon Town/Don Bosco Higher Secondary School (Scout & Guides)/Mon District Bharat Scout & Guides/6th Nap Pipe Band. the highlight of the Programme was District Commendation Award/ Cleanest Ward (I) Special Numbers by (I) Miss Akhao Konyak (II) Women Cultural Troupe by Totok Union Mon Town (III) Cultural Tropes by Mon Union Mon Town and launching of Mon Matti Portal.
