One the eve of Guru Gobind Singh Jayanti, Indian Oil Corporation Ltd. signed an MoU with Sukh Amrit Charitable Organisation with an aim to provide skill training to needy and destitute women , to increase their employbility potential and to contribute in the economic development which will subsequently increase in the Gross Domestic Production of the State.
Shri. Jitendra Kumar ED&SH of Indian Oil Corporation , emphasised on the vision of Prime Minister of India's Office (PMO), New Delhi for skill development in achieving the goal of a becoming a self reliant nation.
The Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) had projected the Incremental Human Resource Requirements till 2022 at 201 millions, making the total requirement of skilled workforce by 2023 at 300 million. A major share of these jobs was to be added in the manufacturing sector, with the National Manufacturing Policy targeting 100 million new jobs in manufacturing by 2022.(data as per record).
Punjab being a border state have moderate growth in Industrial Sector, however to give boost to the industrial sector in state, new policy for sustainable industrial growth , is centered around 8 core strategic pillars of Infrastructure , Power , Micro Small and Medium Enterprises (MSME), Ease of doing business, Start ups & Entrepreneurship, Skill Development, Fiscal & Non Fiscal incentives and Stake holder engagment supported by sector specific strategies for growth. This industrial policy if channelised in a systematic way may provide opportunities to the budding entrepreneurs (and the youth migrating abroad for better opportunities) to invest in the state, boost industrial growth and curtail unemployment in the state.

Today , on the eve of Guru Nanak Jayanti, special children gathered in the courtyard of "Prabh Asra" to sung the glorious praise of the Almighty with the hope and faith in the eyes that trusting the Almighty in difficult times will give us a firm foundation when things are unsteady and uncertain.

Guru Nanak taught us the message of honest hard work as an essential part of one's duty to God. One major episode during the Guru Nanak Dev Ji's Udassi was when Malik Bhago , a high government official hosted a feast and invited Guru Nanak. Guru Nanak declined the invitation saying that ' What a Faqir has to do with your feast".
On being asked second time, Guru Nanak took Bhai Lalo with him and went to Malik Bhago's house. After seeing Bhai Lalo, Malik Bhago objected and said " Why Guru Nanak is eating the dry chapati , when his feast is offering the delicious food".
Guru Nanak took Bhai Lalo Ji's dry chapati in right hand and Malik Bhago's fried pancake in the left hand. When he squeezed the right hand people present their saw the drops of milk is dripping from it and when he squeezed the left hand ,people saw blood trickling from it.
Malik Bhago was silent thereafter.

One lesson that Guru Nanak taught us that " It is better to earn little with honesty than to amass a huge wealth by devious and crooked means"
