Poshan Abhiyaan WCD Darrang

Today on 10th September 2026 the Launching cm Convergence Meeting on 9th Rashtriya Poshan Maah 2026 was held at the DC Conference Hall, Darrang under the chairmanship of the District Commissioner, Darrang.
The meeting was attended by Secretary DLSA, distinguished guests, including Shri Gurujyoti Das, Hon’ble Chairman, Assam Fishery Development Corporation,Shri Pranjal Baruah, ACS, Additional District Commissioner,Shri Dipu Das, Assistant Commissioner, Chairperson CWC, Shri Makunda Deka, Social Worker, Shri Kamaleshwar Baruah, JDHS, IS, DAO, Dy CEO, CDPOs, DFDO, DIPRO, Representative from KVK Darrang, Supervisors, BPA, along with officials and representatives from various departments and other stakeholders.
During the meeting the objectives of Poshan Maah were explained by the DSWO, Darrang, while the detailed Activity Matrix for the month was presented by the DCO, WCD, Darrang.

Total 3 Nos of district level innovations namely-

1.My AWC, My Poshan Thali
2. POSHAN Gopalbhog Preparation Utsav
3.SAM Addoption Programme by Various Stakeholders

planned in connection with Poshan Maah 2026, were also presented during the meeting.
The distinguished guests shared their valuable insights and addressed the gathering on the importance of Poshan Maah, convergence and collective efforts towards improving nutrition outcomes.
As part of the programme 1 SAM child was adopted by the District Commissioner, Darrang. Fruit baskets were also provided to 1 SAM children and 3 nos Moderately Underweight children as a supportive initiative.
The District Commissioner, Darrang, directed all concerned officials and stakeholders to work in close coordination and convergence for the successful implementation and completion of all activities throughout the month.

Today, on 18.09.2025, The District Level Convergence Meeting on the occasion of 8th Rashtriya POSHAN Maah 2025 was held at the Conference Hall of the District Commissioner’s Office, Darrang. The meeting was chaired by the District Commissioner, Darrang, and attended by ADC (WCD), JDHS, DSWO, IS, DEEO, EE PHED, District Poshan Coordinator, CDPOs, ASRLM officials, Block Poshan Coordinators, District UNICEF Consultant, ITC MSK officials, and NGO partners. The event marked the commencement of a month-long initiative dedicated to promoting nutrition, healthy lifestyle, and health awareness.

The DSWO highlighted the aims and objectives of the 8th Rashtriya Poshan Maah, while the District Poshan Coordinator gave a detailed presentation on the activity matrix.

In addition to the activity matrix, three innovative practices were launched:

3. Fitness Cup

Concluding the meeting, the District Commissioner, Darrang, instructed all CDPOs, Supervisors, and BCOs to work with full enthusiasm to ensure better outcomes.

POSHAN Maah 2025 (Rashtriya Poshan Maah) is the 8th annual nationwide nutrition campaign in India, observed from 17th September to 16th October 2025. It aims to intensify efforts under the Mission Saksham Anganwadi and POSHAN 2.0 initiatives to combat malnutrition and promote holistic nutrition awareness for women, children, and adolescent girls across the country.

It is anchored by the Ministry of Women & Child Development and the Ministry of Health & Family Welfare, with large-scale participation at the community level, especially through Anganwadi centres.

Growth Monitoring

Complementary Feeding

“Poshan Bhi Padhai Bhi” (integrating nutrition with early education at Anganwadi Centres)

Technology for Better Governance (e.g., Poshan Tracker app)

Environmental Campaign: “Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam” (tree planting for sustainability)

Addressing Obesity (reducing sugar and oil consumption)

Men’s Involvement in Nutrition and Caregiving.

Activities
Health camps, nutrition workshops, growth monitoring, and dietary diversity drives.

Community initiatives: awareness rallies, cooking competitions, tree plantation, and activities in schools and colleges.

Integration with the “Swasth Nari, Sashakt Parivar Abhiyaan” focusing on holistic health services for women, adolescent girls, and children, including screening, immunization, and menstrual hygiene.
