Independence Day Celebrated at Juvenile Justice Board Kupwara.

Kupwara, August 15, 2026: Today the Juvenile Justice Board (JJB) Kupwara celebrated the 80th Independence Day at its premises wherein the national flag was hoisted by the Principal Magistrate, Juvenile Justice Board Kupwara, Shri Mudasir Bashir in the presence of the Member, JJB Kupwara, Shri Ishaq Ahmad Dar, Chairperson and Members of the Child Welfare Committee (CWC), Kupwara, Staff of District Child Protection unit Kupwara, members of the Child Helpline and staff members of other units associated with the juvenile justice and child protection system & Social welfare Department Kupwara.

In accordance with the new instructions the national song “Vande Mataram” was sung first followed by the National Anthem. The participants joined in the singing with a deep sense of patriotism and respect for the nation.

The flag-hoisting ceremony was followed by the distribution of sweets and a high tea for all participants. During the interaction, the principles and values underlying independence were highlighted. Special emphasis was laid on the collective responsibility of all stakeholders towards protecting the rights, dignity, and welfare of children and ensuring that every child gets an opportunity to grow in a safe, supportive, and enabling environment.

International Yoga Day Celebrated with Enthusiastic Participation at JJB Kupwara .

Kupwara, June 21, 2026: In observance of International Yoga Day, a yoga session was organized today by the Juvenile Justice Board Kupwara at Mission Vatsalya Office Kupwara with the objective of promoting physical fitness, mental well-being, and a healthy lifestyle.
The programme witnessed enthusiastic participation from officers, officials from JJB kupwara,DCPU Kupwara, Childline Kupwara & Child Help Desk Handwara. The participants performed various yoga asanas and breathing exercises under the guidance of trained instructors, highlighting the importance of yoga in maintaining a healthy body and mind.
Speaking on the occasion, the chief guest Principal Magistrate JJB Kupwara emphasized the significance of yoga as an invaluable gift of India's ancient tradition that fosters harmony between mind and body and contributes to overall well-being. Participants were encouraged to incorporate yoga into their daily routine for a healthier and stress-free life.
The programme was conducted successfully and reflected the collective commitment towards promoting health, wellness, and holistic development through yoga.

DM Kupwara Chairs NCORD Meeting; Reinforces 100 Days Campaign Against Drug Menace

Kupwara, April 20: The District Magistrate Kupwara, Shrikant Suse, today chaired a comprehensive review meeting of the Narco Coordination (NCORD) Committee to evaluate the measures undertaken by various departments to curb the growing drug menace in the district. The meeting was attended by SSP Kupwara, Syed Al Tahir Gilani, SSP Handwara Sahil Sarangal, ACR Kupwara, ACD, ARTO, Principals of Government Degree Colleges, Tehsildars, DSWO/DCPO along with officials from District Child Protection Unit Kupwara and other concerned officers.
