Er Aaqib Shafi Rescues Injured Eagle and Ensures Its Safe Return to the Wild
In a remarkable act of compassion and wildlife conservation, Er Aaqib Shafi came to the rescue of an eagle that had reportedly suffered an electric shock. The majestic bird was found in a distressed condition and was unable to fly properly due to its injuries.
Upon noticing the injured eagle, Er Aaqib Shafi immediately took action and safely rescued the bird. Understanding the urgency of the situation, he transported the eagle to the Veterinary Centre Yaripora, where veterinary professionals provided the necessary medical treatment and care.
The veterinary staff thoroughly examined the eagle and administered proper treatment to help it recover from the shock and associated injuries. Thanks to the timely intervention and dedicated care, the bird gradually regained its strength and health.
After a period of treatment and observation, the eagle made a remarkable recovery. It was subsequently released back into its natural habitat, where it successfully took flight once again. Witnesses observed the bird's behavior after its release, noting how it appeared calm and responsive, almost as if it recognized the efforts made to save its life. The eagle circled overhead before flying away, creating an emotional and memorable moment for everyone present.
Speaking on the occasion, Er Aaqib Shafi emphasized the importance of protecting wildlife and urged people to help injured animals and birds whenever possible. He also appreciated the staff of Veterinary Centre Yaripora for their prompt response and professional treatment that made the eagle's recovery possible.
This rescue serves as an inspiring example of humanity, compassion, and the collective responsibility to protect and preserve wildlife for future generations.

Residents Gather at SDH Yaripora, Raise Concerns Over Healthcare Facilities

Yaripora, June 5: A large number of residents from Yaripora and surrounding areas assembled at Sub-District Hospital (SDH) Yaripora on Thursday to express concerns regarding healthcare services and infrastructure at the hospital.

Participants stated that nearly 200 villages are dependent on SDH Yaripora for medical care and urged the authorities to strengthen healthcare facilities to meet the growing needs of the population.

Among the key demands raised by the residents were the appointment of specialist doctors, including gynecologists and ophthalmologists, regular availability of ultrasound (USG) services, establishment of a blood bank, dialysis facilities, laparoscopic surgery services along with qualified specialists, advanced life support ambulances, and improved maintenance of hospital washrooms.

Residents emphasized that the lack of several essential healthcare services often compels patients to travel long distances for treatment. They appealed to the hospital administration and concerned authorities to address these issues at the earliest.

Responding to the concerns, the concerned Block Medical Officer (BMO), Dr. A.B. Gani Poswal, said that some of the facilities requested by the public are already available at the hospital, while work on several other services is currently in progress.

"We are making every possible effort to ensure that patients do not face difficulties and that quality healthcare services are provided to the people," Dr. Poswal said.

The gathering concluded with residents expressing hope that the administration would take necessary measures to further improve healthcare services at SDH Yaripora.

Kanjikulla Waterfall, Yaripora — a hidden gem with huge tourism potential. If maintained properly, this beautiful spot can become a mini Aharbal for nearby areas like Katapora, Brahada & Yamrach. Years of negligence have left it devastated. Hope the DC Kulgam takes notice and develops it as a tourist destination.

Today, I, Er. Aaqib Shafi, Constituency Incharge of Jammu and Kashmir Apni Party Kulgam, visited Sharpora village of Yaripora Ward No. 2 and felt deeply ashamed and concerned after witnessing the pathetic condition of the electric infrastructure in the area.
The electric lines are dangerously hanging on trees instead of proper electric poles, posing a serious threat to the lives of children, elderly people, and the general public. It is unfortunate that even in the 21st century, people are forced to live under such unsafe and neglected conditions. A major accident can occur at any time if immediate action is not taken.
Sadly, the Yaripora area continues to face discrimination time and again when it comes to basic infrastructure and public safety. The people of the area have suffered enough neglect — now it is time to act.
I humbly request the Deputy Commissioner Kulgam and AEE Electric Division Yaripora to personally look into this grave issue and ensure the immediate installation of proper electric poles and safe electric infrastructure in the area for the safety and welfare of the people.
