Selecting a Right Engine Oil for Your Car

Engine oil is a crucial component for vehicle to function properly. It can be four-wheeler and two-wheeler vehicle.

To perform engine well it is required to use right amount of oil, or right amount viscosity of engine oil.

There are several options when it comes to picking the appropriate oil for your car's engine. This post breaks down your choices to help you in changing the vehicles oil.

There are 3 main types of engine oil available in market.

(1) Mineral Oil
(2) Semi-Synthetic Oil
(3) Synthetic Oil

Synthetic oil is preferred where temperature gets changes rapidly. In Airplanes temperature gets fluctuate suddenly so synthetic oil is fully recommended here.

And German cars like VolksWagen, Audi, Mercedes and Volvo are based on latest technology also required synthetic oil to perform well.

For other brands in India Semi-synthetic oil is great option. It will help your vehicle to starts and runs smoothly in all weather conditions, including extremely cold. And helps to keep your engine and its components lubricated longer than mineral oils.

Because based on the Indian automobiles market semi synthetic oil is useful till -28°C temperature. The lowest temperature in India is -10°C.

Let’s understand it with an example of Srinagar, if you use mineral oil in Srinagar at -10°C temperature.The mineral oil will freeze and it will seize your car’s engine. So here semi-synthetic oil is useful for you instead or mineral.

Eramus Mundus Scholarships (Germany) - The EU (European Union) offers fully-funded scholarships for Masters programmes and Doctorate programmes to students coming from developing countries like India.
