We’re D8 and we make the only range of 100% natural medjool date butters in Europe. Our signature, Original date butter, is made of Organic medjool dates blended with a pinch of pink salt to balance the sweetness. This flavour won a star at the Great Taste awards (year, place).
Our products are allergen free, paleo & vegan friendly and so have universal appeal.

The idea for the business came to me because of my relationship with food was changing. As someone with a sweet tooth, I wanted to find wholesome alternatives that could fit into a busy life but that would be full of fibre, flavour and goodness. I started making date butters for myself and I instantly knew that these were products that were delicious and nutritious; full of gut healthy fibre and 100% natural ingredients and sugars.

The most difficult thing about creating an entirely new category is convincing people to move away from the tried and trusted regulars, to something new. Our products are original, award winning and unmatched in the current landscape and we pride ourselves in giving our customers only the very best ingredients and formulations in the most sustainable way.

Started in 2018, D8 brings together what I have learned on my food journey, my passion for great ingredients and my love of enjoying good food. - Danai

indebted2nature presents you the story of Springkode. A different take on textile business which is equally good for the craftsmen and the environment.

Springkode was launched in 2018 in Porto, Portugal, by Reinaldo Moreira, Francisco Pimentel and Miguel Pinto. Springkode connects with textile manufacturers working for top brands like Chloé, Givenchy, Burberry, Coach, Armani etc by giving them a platform to showcase, market and sell their in-house garments, designed by the manufacturer's design team. Most often the manufacturers are left with top quality excess fabric of different quantities once the season is over.Based on the available lengths of fabric, the team comes up with new design and create different styles with these fabrics in their factories, which are one of a kind. They adopt zero waste principles while designing these high quality garments and ship directly from production plant to customers. The garments from Springkode are not only unique and trendy but also sustainably and ethically produced adopting zero wastage. SPRINGKODE connects best in class manufacturers and environment conscious customers. This method results in very few units of similar design giving the buyers something unique and exclusive. By avoiding third party in between, they are able to offer high quality, responsibly produced garments at a significantly lower price than premium brands giving due credit to the designers and tailors.

Our fascination for material properties of Bacterial Cellulose ultimately gave us an idea about the commercial and environmental viability of it.

Our main motivation was our drive to develop a sustainable material inorder to have sustainable products and this was achieved by our constant research on Bacterial cellulose. Materials developed from mature coconuts, banana fibre, sisal fibre, h**p, natural gums & starches started its way into beautiful products like Bags, accessories, light footwear, prototypes of furniture upholstery etc.

Our products life cycle is circular in nature. We take agricultural waste as our primary input for making the material and at the end of its life the material becomes nutrient for the compost. Scale is very important for us at Malai and so, we do not want to build big factories. Instead, we place small container units wherever the raw materials are available, making production process sustainable with less Carbon emission. This is story of Malai and this is our journey - Zuzana Gombosova & Susmith.

Most of us use Talcum powders on a daily basis, but have you ever heard of water activated powder shampoo and most importantly how much of water it saves?
When Kailey, a professional in chemical engineering learned that liquid shampoo was 80% water on average, she knew she had to act. It was the perfect opportunity for her to combine interests of clean beauty and sustainability with her background in chemical engineering. Kailey conceptualized an entirely waterless haircare line and put her product development skills to work. After 3 years from concept to launch OWA released its first-of-a-kind, water-activated powder shampoo. Kailey's mission is to have people eliminating the expectation for compromised quality with clean and sustainable formulations.

Waterless, concentrated formulas are good for the planet but they’re good for you and your hair too and thus OWA created shampoos without compromising the quality of the products nor nature.

The load of baby diapers on the planet is enormous and I had always been on a search to replace or atleast reduce it without affecting the comfort of my baby. - Reshma Menon.

Cloth diaper was initially introduced to me by a friend after the birth of my first child in 2016. The concept was new to me then and even though I loved the idea, I had several unanswered questions which prevented me before using it on my baby. Hence I decided to do a detailed study by reading about the different aspects involved, different kinds of materials used, their compositions etc. This quest made me understand about different brands and different materials.

After being thorough with the whole idea and convinced with the fact of going green, coupled with being cost effective and really safe,I felt I need to make my own that's very trim but at the same time with good absorbtion and finally I launched Tinytoes in November 2018.

Our main objective was to focus on 3 main criterias .
1) super trim crotch where the diapers would just fit like an underwear
2) Absorbent and gentle for day and night use
3) To be priced right so that it would be affordable for all.
The diapers are tailor made by myself, after several attempts on my little one to provide whats best for all our children. It's a one sized diaper having snaps which will enable you to change the size of the diaper as baby grows with a weight range is 4-15kgs. Moreover you could wash the diapers in the washing machine again and again and the baby is free from rashes and chemicals. And most of all, our earth is freed of bulky used diapers a little bit at a time!! @ Kochi, India

Coop Forest" by Mr. Piyush Manush and his 70 Volunteers.

In 2009, at Dharmapuri (Tamil Nadu, India), his initiatives started with an idea to turn a waste land to forest cover. They formed a cooperative body " Coop Forest", nurturing 1.5 acres of forest land.
The challenging part of the project was to turn the eroded infertile soil healthy and water bearing. Also the team had to improve the moisture content in the soil and for this Water harvesting structures were created in the proposed forest. 2 Island ponds, 17 earthen bunds and 9 trenches were constructed and the dryland turned lush with the aid of newfound sources of water. Now this 159 acres of land is home to around 100 varieties of plant species.

Coop Forest in an example to look forward to for sustainable entrepreneurship as the Bamboo and Aloe Vera grown in the forest are converted to commercial goods which in turn generate revenue which in turn generates a small profit. 'Profit means meeting the needs, not the greed' - lets keep these words of Mr. Piyush in our mind and let Green business initiatives like these be a motivation for the present generation.

The near by villages which were able to cultivate only one crop a year due to scarcity of water and the accompanying droughts are able to now cultivate 3 crops a year. This is the power of Nature. Always remember if we love our Nature it always loves us back in abundance.

Happy Womens day to all women out there and special wishes to these two super heroes, for making life easy for all of us,and also for saving our planet by presenting 'Eco Femme' for us. Eco Femme is a women-led social enterprise started by Kathy and Jessamijn. Founded in Auroville in 2010, their goal is to bring about an environmental and social change by advocating menstrual practices that are healthy, environmentally sustainable, culturally responsive and give women a sense of empowerment. Eco Femme produces cloth menstrual-pads which last for approximately 75 washes. These products not only save the planet but also saves our pockets. A woman who switches from disposable to reusable menstrual pads prevents 600 pads from being thrown away during a 5 year period. Eco Femme was initially started to generate livelihood for local woman tailors. Now the team consists of 18 women in the office and 24 in tailoring units. Together they are saving nature from large quantities of disposable sanitary waste which take 500 - 800 years to decompose.
Eco Femme is an hybrid organisation and their commercial work funds their outreach work. This year they reached out to 13000 girls with menstrual education and free pads, in collaboration with more than 20 other NGOs across the country.
Your purchase directly supports menstrual education and cloth pads to girls and women from low-income backgrounds.
