As part of the ongoing Seva Sankalp Abhiyan, Kolkata ESRO organised a Seminar followed by an Interactive Session on Cyber Security on 25.09.2026 at the Nursing Training School, ID & BG, Beleghata.

The programme was inaugurated by the Hon’ble Principal of the Institution, Dr. Monidipa Majumdar. The session was conducted by Sri Sanjib Chakraborty, Cyber Crime Branch, Lalbazar, as the Resource Person, covering important aspects of cyber security and safe digital practices.

The programme was also attended by Sri Chandrajit Sur, Dy. Assistant Director, and Sri Nazimuddin Mondal, CWO, representing the department.

The interactive session witnessed enthusiastic participation from 105 attendees, who actively engaged in discussions on cyber safety and awareness.

Cyber Crime Branch, Kolkata Police conducted a raid at Luv Kush Apartment, 146 Picnic Garden Road, Kolkata, on the basis of Pratibimb Hotspot Analysis and arrested 9 persons allegedly involved in operating a domestic call centre.

The accused were allegedly targeting individuals in South Indian states by impersonating representatives of Kerala State Lottery, Dhani Loan, Bajaj Finance, etc., and using forged and fabricated documents.

During the operation, 10 smartphones, 16 keypad mobile phones, 1 laptop, 1 tablet, 4 notebooks and other incriminating documents/printouts were seized.

A specific case has been initiated, and the arrested persons will be produced before the Ld. Court with prayer for police custody.

Arrest of Alleged Kingpin of an International Call Centre Network.

In connection with an investigation into an international call centre network, Kolkata Police Cyber Crime Branch conducted a raid under Pragati Maidan Police Station area, East Division, and apprehended three persons, including the alleged mastermind/kingpin of the network.

The arrested persons are:

1. Mohsin Khan @ Faisal (31)– Alleged kingpin and principal payment handler of the network.
2. Md. Khurshid @ Guddu (35)
3. Imran Ali (27).

During the raid, 04 mobile phones, 04 SIM cards and ₹96,000/- in cash were seized.

A raid conducted within the jurisdiction of Nagerbazar Police Station resulted in the arrest of one person following due legal formalities.

Items seized:
* Laptop & Router
* Apple Mobile Phone
* ₹6.60 Lakh Cash
* Relevant incriminating screenshots/documents

Preliminary investigation indicates involvement in supporting multiple call centres engaged in activities including phishing, international call switching and number spoofing across Kolkata/West Bengal.

Further investigation is underway.
