Pandua Online People use to say that a trip to Pandua is like a journey to the historical past of Bengal. However many historians debate about the origin of the tower.

The place is best known for its Minar and the palace of Pandu Raja (Bari mosque) . Both the structures are maintained by the archaeological Survey of india(ASI). In the year of 1340, the king of Pandua Pandu Raja was defeated by the Delhi Sultan Shah Suffiuddin. People of Pandua has a belief that the Sultan built this minar as a victory mark. The minar has around 163 steps spiral staircases. The a

ccess to this minar has been prohibited now a days . In 1886, the minar was suffered great damage during an earth quake. Eleven feet of it sank into the soil. The upper part has been renovated . This piece of architecture is being called as one of the oldest monuments of Bengal. This Minar is also a mark of Hindu-Muslim harmony. In the month of Megh, every year one month long fair is being organized in front of the tower. People of different religion, caste take part in this fair. Its just a classical example of communal harmony- spirit of unity among diversity. Traders of different places come and open their shop in this place during fair. Its always a great enjoyment for the children to be present in the fair.
