The Coordination Meeting on “SDGs and Viksit Nagaland 2047” was convened on 14 August 2026 at the Development Commissioner’s Conference Hall. The meeting was chaired by Shri Y. Kikheto Sema, IAS, Principal Secretary & Development Commissioner, and attended by officials from the UNDP Country Office and the Department of Planning & Transformation, including SDGCC and NIoT.

The meeting focused on reviewing and deliberating on the Draft Viksit Nagaland 2047 document, and on ensuring its alignment with the .

The Coordination Meeting on the SDGs was convened on 11 August 2026 at the Development Commissioner’s Conference Hall. The meeting was chaired by Shri Y. Kikheto Sema, IAS, Principal Secretary & Development Commissioner, and attended by AHoDs, HoDs and SDG Nodal Officers from various departments.
The meeting focused on reviewing and discussing the performance of priority indicators, with emphasis on strengthening progress and accelerating SDG implementation across the State. The discussions also highlighted the importance of SDG data and indicators in evidence-based decision-making and effective resource allocation, while aligning development efforts towards and a broader vision of @2047.

Summer Science Camp 2026

The second edition of the two-day Summer Science Camp, being held on 14–15 July 2026 at Nangtan Village, Tizit, has brought together 22 school students from Mon district, as well as Dimapur and Kohima. The camp is being organised as part of the Project Village Science Museum & Lab, being implemented by Shri Zenwang Konyak, Proprietor & Technical Head, Zen Scientific, under SDG IPAR 2.0 of the SDGCC, Department of Planning & Transformation, Nagaland. The camp aims to foster scientific curiosity through hands-on experiments and interactive demonstrations, providing students with practical exposure to scientific concepts.

In his inaugural address, Shri. Loktimen Longchari, Assistant Planning Officer, encouraged the students, saying: “ Every great invention that has changed the world began with an ordinary person asking an extraordinary question. The future belongs to those who never stop asking ‘Why?’ and ‘How?’.”

The SDG IPAR Initiative, launched in 2021, aims to mobilise communities to design and implement innovative, community-driven, low-cost, and high-impact projects that strengthen grassroots solutions and accelerate progress towards sustainable development.

DELEGATION FROM NAGALAND PARTICIPATES IN THE NATIONAL DELIBERATIVE SUMMIT ON HARMONIZING ADMINISTRATIVE DATA FOR GOVERNANCE IN BHUBANESWAR



A delegation from Nagaland, led by Secretary to the Government of Nagaland, Economics & Statistics Department, Akunu S. Meyase, participated in the National Deliberative Summit on “Harmonizing Administrative Data for Governance,” organised by the Ministry of Statistics and Programme Implementation in Bhubaneswar, Odisha, from April 29–30, 2026.

The summit brought together policymakers, domain experts, and state representatives to deliberate on linking administrative data systems for improved governance, evidence-based policymaking, and enhanced service delivery. Participation in the summit reflects Nagaland’s commitment to modernising its statistical systems in line with national initiatives. Key learnings from the summit are expected to strengthen the State’s data ecosystem, improve inter-departmental data sharing, and support efficient governance and policy planning.

During the deliberations, experts emphasised the need for harmonisation of administrative datasets across departments through the adoption of common metadata standards, unique identifiers, and standardised classifications. States were encouraged to develop comprehensive data catalogues to maintain an inventory of datasets, including legacy data, and to ensure interoperability across government systems.

The discussions also highlighted the importance of automated data generation and sharing mechanisms, the establishment of state-level data exchange platforms, and the use of national data platforms for seamless integration and dissemination. Additionally, capacity-building initiatives and competency-based training for officials were underscored as essential for improving data management practices. Emphasis was also placed on quality assessment frameworks, advance data release calendars, and strengthening institutional mechanisms to sustain improvements in administrative data governance.

The team comprised of representatives Director, Neidilhou Keditsu; Additional Director, Charles Kikon and Economics & Statistics Officer, Vetalu Chiero from Economics & Statistics Department; Sr. Program Officer, Akumla Aier from Information Technology & Communication Department and from Planning and Abilo Y. STATE LEVEL WORKSHOP ON ‘USING ADMINISTRATIVE DATA FOR GOVERNANCE’ HELD AT KOHIMA



The Economics & Statistics Department, Government of Nagaland, organised a one-day State-level Workshop on ‘Using Administrative Data for Governance: Linking Departmental Data at State Level’ on 24th March 2026 at the Secretariat Conference Hall, Nagaland Civil Secretariat, Kohima. The event brought together senior officials and technical experts from 20 state departments to advance the agenda of data-driven governance. The workshop was inaugurated with a Welcome Address by Neidilhou Keditsu, Director, Economics & Statistics Department.

Development Commissioner, Temsunaro Aier, IAS, in her keynote address, emphasized that administrative data should be AI ready to leverage the benefits of AI and big data for good governance and data driven policy making. The technical session began with presentation on the workshop’s theme by Akunu S Meyase, Secretary to the Government of Nagaland, Economics and Statistics Department, wherein she emphasized that the prevailing siloed and underutilised governmental data must be integrated and linked to transform the same as strategic asset for evidence-based governance.

During the workshop the following presentations were made, ‘Use of the PIMS database for scheme implementation such as CMHIS and CMLIS’ was made by Livitoli Sukhalu, Deputy Secretary, P&AR Department; ‘Best practices from other States’ by Vikosieto Krose, Deputy Director, Economics and Statistics Department; ‘State Data Sharing and Accessibility Policy’ by Er. Pelengulie Chucha, Scientist ‘C’ Nagaland Science and Technology Council, Science and Technology Department; ‘Data privacy and Interoperability’ by Er. Yanger Longkumer, Program Officer, Information Technology and Communications Department; “Leveraging Administrative Data for Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) by Abilo Humtsoe, SDG Officer, SDGCC, Planning & Transformation Department.

The aforesaid presentations were followed by a consultative discussion moderated by Neisatuo Puro, while Charles N Kikon, Additional Directors, Economics and Statics Department spoke on challenges and way forward for administrative data linkages. The workshop ended with a concluding remark by Akunu S Meyase, Secretary to the Government of Nagaland, Economics and Statistics Department.
