The Department of Economic Affairs (DEA), in partnership with UNDP in India and with support of the European Union, organized a foundational roundtable on ‘Identifying Sustainable Finance Priorities at the State level’ on 23rd September 2025 in New Delhi.

This roundtable marked the beginning of the implementation of the Sustainable Finance Facility (SFF) which is designed to support government stakeholders in exploring and designing financing mechanisms to attract private capital for sustainable development projects.

The SFF initiative aligns with India’s broader policy objectives of accelerating progress on the by 2030 and by 2047, equipping States and Union Territories with important tools and knowledge to mobilize private capital for sustainable development projects that advance inclusive development.

The event brought together esteemed senior government officials from 20 States and Union Territories, including Nagaland, as well as representatives from DEA, NITI Aayog, UNDP, and European Union.
