Mahabalipuram Shore Temple is an architectural marvel that is situated on the shores of Bay of Bengal in the town of Mahabalipuram in Tamil Nadu, India. The temple is a testament to the skill and craftsmanship of the Pallava dynasty that ruled over the region from the 3rd to the 9th century AD. It is one of the oldest and most well-preserved examples of Dravidian architecture in India.

The Shore Temple is believed to have been built during the reign of Narasimhavarman II (also known as Rajasimha), who ruled from 695 to 722 AD. It was constructed as a tribute to Lord Shiva and was originally one of a group of seven temples that were built on the shore. Over time, the other temples were destroyed by natural disasters and the ravages of time, leaving only the Shore Temple standing.

The temple is a structural masterpiece that is made entirely out of granite. It consists of three shrines, with the largest and central one dedicated to Lord Shiva, and the other two dedicated to Lord Vishnu. The temple also has beautiful carvings of various Hindu gods and goddesses, as well as scenes from Hindu mythology.

The temple is particularly famous for its intricate carvings, which depict various scenes from Hindu histories. 🚩 Brihadisvara Temple,Tamil Nadu Bhara 🇮🇳
One of the greatest engineering marvels ever.

It is built using interlock method where no cement, plaster or adhesive was used between the stones.

It has survived 1000 yrs and 6 earthquakes.

The Mandir tower at 216 feet was likely the tallest in the world at the time.

The other structures built using this method Big Ben and Leaning Tower of Pisa are tilting with time. The temple which is way older has zero degree inclination.

1.3 lakh ton of granite was used to build the temple which was transported by 3000 elephants from 60 kms away.

The temple was constructed without digging the earth.

The Kumbham at the top of the temple tower weighs 81 tons and is carved from a single piece of granite .

No world wonder ever comes close to the level of engineering used to construct the Brihadisvara Mandir. There is nothing quite like it and there will never be something quite like it. Raja Raja Chola was a visionary. We must treasure this timeless marvel

One more tiny detail - it was built in such a manner that shadow never falls down. The shadow falls on itself.

Kailasa Temple has been dubbed as ‘Cave 16’ of the Ellora Caves, and is notable for being the largest monolithic structure in the world that was carved out of a single piece of rock. Apart from the temple’s impressive size, it is also remarkable for its sculptures, as well as for the fine workmanship of its other architectural elements. The Kailasa Temple [known also as the Kailasanatha (which translates as ‘Lord of Kailasa’) Temple] is an ancient Hindu temple located in the western Indian region of Maharashtra.

This temple is part of the Ellora Caves (UNESCO World Heritage Site), a religious complex consisting of 34 rock-cut monasteries and temples. This temple derives its name from Mount Kailasa, the Himalayan abode of the Hindu god Shiva. It is generally believed that this temple was constructed in the 8th century AD, during the reign of Krishna I, a ruler of the Rashtrakuta Empire. As the Kailasa Temple is supposed to represent the sacred mountain of Shiva, this temple was dedicated to this particular Hindu god. The construction of the Kailasa Temple is thought to have taken place between 757 and 783 AD. It has been commonly estimated that over this period of about two and a half decades, a total of 200,000 (other estimations range from 150,000 to 400,000) tons of rock were excavated out of a vertical basalt cliff in the Charanandri Hills to form the magnificent temple. It may be added that the temple was carved from top to bottom with only simple hammers and chisels.

Har Ki Doon or Har Ki Dun is a cradle-shaped hanging valley in the Himalayas of , India. The region is surrounded with green Bugyals (High Altitude Meadows). It is surrounded by snow-covered peaks and alpine vegetation. It is connected to Baspa Valley by the Borasu Pass.

This valley is about 3566 m (11700 ft) above mean sea level and is snow-covered from October to March.
