Shri Deba Kumar Mishra, District Commissioner, Kamrup, chaired a meeting today at the Conference Hall of the Integrated District Commissioner’s Office, Kamrup with the contesting candidates of the six Legislative Assembly Constituencies (LACs) and their representatives regarding the counting of votes scheduled on May 4 in connection with the forthcoming General Election to the Assam Legislative Assembly, 2026.
During the meeting, detailed discussions were held on the arrangements and protocols for the counting process, including entry procedures, counting hall arrangements, deployment of officials, security measures, issuance of passes, media arrangements and adherence to the guidelines of the Election Commission of India (ECI).
The District Commissioner urged all candidates and representatives to extend full cooperation and strictly follow the guidelines to ensure the free, fair, smooth and peaceful conduct of the counting process.
The meeting was attended by Shri Siddhartha Goswami, Chief Executive Officer, Kamrup Zila Parishad, Shri Susanta Kumar Dutta, District Development Commissioner, Kamrup, Smti Geetashri Lachit, Shri Aditya Gogoi, Shri Pranjit Kr. Deb, Shri Biswajit Saikia Smti Monika Borgohain and Smt. Sarmistha Neog, Additional District Commissioners, Shri Bhaskar Jyoti Kalita, Co-District Commissioner, Palashbari, Shri Priyanshu Bharadwaj, Co-District Commissioner, Boko–Chaygaon, Dr Bhupali Kashyap, Election Officer, Kamrup, Smti Punnam Pegu, Additional Superintendent of Police along with contesting candidates and officials of the District Administration.
