The Canadian Baptist Missionaries ( CBM) started mission work in lndia in the year 1874 with specific purpose to serve the community through health and education. Subsequently by evolution of time after independence to India the founders of CBM converted the mission into a registered society under the provisions society registration act vide Regdl. No. 16/1948 49 registered with the District regis
trars of Societies at Kakinada in the name and style of Convention of Baptist Churches of Northern Circars (CBCNC) Since then the society is governed by the By-Laws and regulations of society. Subsequently in the year 1960 for the purpose of affective functioning and management of properties the Trust Association of CBCNC another society under the guidelines and By-laws of CBCNC was also registered wish the same registrar vide Regd. The Trust Association of CBCNC (TACBCNC) was made absolute owner to all the properties of CBCNC with absolute power to, acquire or alienate properties for the benefit of the society

Missionaries assisted zealous Indian workers under the grace of God resulted in rapid
expansion in establishing Churches, Educational Institutions and Hospitals. The constitution and By-laws of the CBCNC making it the center of direction and responsibility for the work both evangelistic and administrative. This constitution will help effectively to strengthen the Churches to develop them eventually into entirely self- Supporting. self-governing and self-propagating divine institutions in order to fulfil God's purpose of saving and serving the mankind through Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. According to the By-laws originally the tenure of the elected is one year. But subsequently it was amended as five yeas. Hence the tenure of the elected body of CBCNC nd TACBCNC is five years
According to the By-Laws of Trust Association (TA) of CBCNC, the TA is only authorized to hold, acquire, manage, transfer, alienate etc. of the properties of CBCNC. During the first decade of 19th Century the foreign mission board acquired vast extent of properties with in the jurisdiction of Northern Circars that is seven districts ( Guntur, Krishna, West Godavari, East Godavari, Visakhapatnam, Vizianagaram and Srikakulam) of the Andhra Pradesh area by way of sale, gift and etc. The convention of CBCNC shall be an autonomous body divided into three Associations ( Krishna Association, Godavari Association and Northern Association) consisting of 23 fields. According to the By-laws, one third of the delegates to convention must be women. All the voting members shall be the members of the respective CBCNC Churches which they represent.
