Today on 28th of February 2026.
The Team 2-IR Battalion accorded a warm farewell to ASI Amemal Ahsan and HC Suresh Kumar on the occasion of their superannuation at Battalion Headquarter Fatehpur, Rajouri. The ceremony was graced by The Commandant of the Battalion along with other officers and officials of the battalion.
On the occasion, the Commandant of the Battalion appreciated the retirees for their dedicated and sincere service to the department. Mementos were presented as a token of respect and gratitude and the battalion wished them a healthy and peaceful retired life.

Shri Anand Jain-IPS, Additional Director General of Police, Armed J&K, accompanied by Sh Dr. Vinod Kumar-IPS, DIG IRP Range Jammu and SO to ADGP Sh. Dalip Kumar-JKPS, paid an official visit to 2-IRB Fatehpur, Rajouri today.

During the course of the visit, the ADGP Armed J&K first proceeded to CBS Sarol, where he was warmly received by the Cheif Instructor CBS Sarol, SSP Rajouri and Commandant of 2-IRB along with other officers of the unit. He interacted with trainees from various Kashmir-based AP/IRP units undergoing the Special Striking Force/QRT Course. The ADGP closely reviewed the training modules, operational drills, and overall preparedness of the trainees. Emphasizing discipline, physical fitness, and operational efficiency, he encouraged the participants to maintain the highest standards of professionalism and to perform their duties with dedication, integrity, and commitment.

On arrival at Battalion Headquarters, Fatehpur, Rajouri, the visiting officers were received by the Deputy Commandant of the Battalion and other officers of the unit. The ADGP was accorded a ceremonial Guard of Honour. He undertook a comprehensive review of the battalion’s functioning, infrastructure, and operational readiness.He also formally inaugurated the newly installed CCTV control room and dedicated to the unit the renovated Mess, Dining Hall, footpath, and roof awning by cutting the ribbon in the presence of the DIG IRP Range Jammu, SO to ADGP, SSP Rajouri and the Commandant of the Battalion.

Subsequently, the ADGP addressed a Darbar of officers and jawans, where he listened to their concerns and appreciated their dedication and hard work in maintaining law and order and ensuring security. He urged the jawans to stay away from drug abuse, highlighting its detrimental effects on individual well-being and the integrity of the force.

The visit concluded with an interaction session with officers, during which important matters pertaining to administration, security and personnel welfare were discussed in detail. At the end, the Commandant expressed heartfelt gratitude to the ADGP for his valuable guidance, continued support, and inspiring visit to the Battalion.

The 2 IRP Battalion organised an event of “Bada Khana” at Battalion Headquarter Fatehpur, Rajouri. All the officers/officials enthusiastically participated in the programme, making the event warm, lively, and special.
The occasion was graced by the worthy Commandant along with other officers, whose presence added dignity and importance to the gathering. The programme was held during dinner, where a wide variety of delicious dishes were specially prepared and served to everyone.
A colourful cultural programme was also organised to make the evening more memorable. Many officers, officials, and jawans took part with great enthusiasm, which added joy and excitement to the celebration.
The event provided a wonderful opportunity for everyone to sit together, share a meal, and spend quality time with one another. It strengthened unity, mutual understanding, and team spirit among all ranks, making the “Bada Khana” a truly memorable occasion for the Battalion.
In the end, heartfelt thanks were extended to the worthy DGP ofJ&k police, ADGP Armed and DIG IR Jammu, for granting permission and giving the Battalion the opportunity to organise such a meaningful and enjoyable Bada Khana.

The IRP 2nd Battalion Fatehpur, Rajouri held a dignified Pipping Ceremony to celebrate the promotion of one Selection Grade Constable to the rank of Head Constable and eight Constables to Selection Grade Constable.
The newly promoted personnel included Nisar Ahmad, Waseem Akram, Sameer Ahmad, Suhail Ahmad, Zahid Shafi, Aadil Malik, Aadil Hamid, Nafiz Ahmad and Faheem-ul-Alam.

The 77th Republic Day of India was celebrated with patriotic fervour at the Battalion Headquarters, IRP 2nd Battalion Fatehpur, Rajouri.
The ceremony began with the unfurling of the National Flag by the Commandant of IRP 2nd bn followed by the National Anthem.
