On 20th of March, Arunachal Life Saving Foundation and the Gauhati High Court, Itanagar Permanent Branch in Collaboration with Gauhati High Court Permanent Bench Bar Association organised a voluntary blood donation camp, with the motto “Donate Blood, Save Lives” at the high court premises.

The event saw a success as we gathered more than 62 participants for the programme. Among the participants were the Hon’ble Mr Justice (Judge) Budi Habung, who not only did inaugurate the camp but also donated blood to encourage his lawyers and advocates to do the same. The Registrar of Gauhati High Court, Shri Lobsang Tenzin, not only did he administrate the programme and donate blood but also encouraged his staff to donate. A huge number of donors came from the Bar Association who were seniors- both male and female.

A single unit of blood can change 3 lives at a time. With the demand of approx 332 units of blood per day in ICR, and the average collection of 40-65 units of blood per camp highlight the lack of awareness about voluntary blood donation among our people in the state despite our tireless efforts. Blood can only be donated by humans which is why it must be made mandatory for all organisations and pressure groups to include Blood Donation Camps as compulsory in their agendas in order to donate blood and save more lives of our own people.

On the 16th of March,2026, we received a huge participation from the students and faculties of Himalayan University during the Voluntary Blood Donation Camp organised at its university Auditorium. The programme was coordinated and collaborated with the NSS Unit and Himalayan University Student Union (HUSU). We successfully collected a total of 43 units of blood.

We were truly honoured and overwhelmed by the response of the University and the students.
Our Chairman, Ramesh Jeke sir had a brief awareness session as the youth play a pivotal role in the success of blood donation camps. The crisis of blood availability in ICR blood banks pose an imposing challenge in accessing healthcare to the general public which is exactly why the youth of today must be empowered and educated about the necessity of voluntary blood donation.

We thank the the Honourable Vice Chancellor of Himalayan University, The Registrar, The Dean, for guiding the event. Thank you to medical staff of TRIHMS, Naharlagun for their incredible service. A special thanks to the student union HUSU and the NSS Unit for their reach and support. Lastly to all the students, thank you for actively participating in the event and making it successful.

On the occasion of the 9th College Foundation Day Celebration of TRIHMS, Naharlagun, a Voluntary Blood Donation was organised at the blood bank department of the hospital.

The honourable Dean and Functional Director of TRIHMS Dr Naba Kumar Bezbaruah had inaugurated the programme becoming the first donor of the event. Setting an example, it was followed suit by senior doctors, faculty, professors, and students. The event was concluded with the collection of 32 units of blood 🩸

The noble act carried by the institution highlights issues that are deeply rooted in our society. Blood is a requirement that nor science neither technology can replicate, therefore as humans, it falls under our responsibility to keep ourselves healthy and voluntarily donate blood. The scarcity and shortage of human blood in blood banks is felt in the Capital Complex as well as in the whole of State where demand of blood is more than the collection of blood. Your 1 unit of blood 🩸 can transform somebody’s life forever.

This is an appeal to each and everyone, every institution, every foundation, to encourage organising voluntary blood donation camps in your locality at every important events be it a national event, any foundation days, birthdays, anniversaries, weddings, gatherings, etc . Because what better way to celebrate life and new beginnings than celebrating human lives with a humanitarian purpose ?

Raktan - A humble tribute to our brother, Om Bahadur.

The abyss of life's ever changing dynamic often directs us to feel hesitant towards softening up,however do we ever realise that being human and sharing love and kindness bears no currency that is exchangeable?

In this materialistic world, we the Arunachal Life Saving Foundation have crossed paths with
such an individual, joyous by nature and zealous by heart - Mr Om Bahadur.

He was brave as his name suggested.
He belonged to the big part of electronic media, who had tirelessly promoted and spread
awareness about the urgency and requirements of Voluntary Blood Donation Camps in our state. He has given our foundation the wings and hands to build the structure of organising successful blood donation camps in the state.

Whether electronic or print/press, media wields so much power. We thank all the media fraternities of the state who work selflessly for giving our Foundation the wings needed in order to educate, liberate and save lives.

Our brother Om Prakash is no longer with us in this world but we carry his spirit and morals as a foundation. A voluntary blood donation camp was organised to pay our tribute and condolences to his efforts on 1st of March,2026 at RK Mission Conference Hall, Itanagar. May his legacy continue to inspire and uplift the masses. May his soul rest in peace and in power.

A belated but Happy Valentines Day to everyone from the Arunachal Life Saving Foundation. This Valentine’s Day, i.e.,on the 14th of February, an effort for a humanitarian cause was made by Taba Jumshi, our reigning Kingfisher Ultra Miss Arunachal 2025, as she quoted- “Love in its purest form “

The voluntary blood donation camp was organised in collaboration with Miss Arunachal Organisation and Heema Hospital. Our event achieved massive success as we collected 63 units of blood.

The event also commemorated the Black Day as an empowering speech filled with feelings of patriotism was given by Ramesh Jeke, our Chairman. 14th February is also observed as Black Day in India to commemorate the 2019 Pulwama terror attack, where 40 CRPF personnel were martyred in Jammu and Kashmir. The day honors the bravery of the fallen soldiers, serves as a solemn reminder of the tragic loss, and emphasizes national unity and anti-terrorism efforts.

The cooperation and coordination of the ALSF volunteers, the Miss Arunachal Organisation, Heema Hospital, and all the lovely donors who came have made the day a success. Thank you to one all because you have set the example that not all hero wear capes, some share love in the form of blood donation.
