Celebrating 21 Years of Access Livelihoods-21 years of people, partnerships and possibilities.

Our 21-year celebration brought together communities, partners, board members, fellows and our team to reflect on the journey so far, recognise the people who have shaped it and look ahead to what we can build together.

The day began by celebrating those at the heart of our work-women entrepreneurs, weavers, farmers and Digital Sakhis-and bringing community voices to the stage. We were honoured to have Dr. G. R. Chintala, Former Chairperson, NABARD, as Chief Guest, and Smt. V. Usha Rani, IAS (Retd.), as Guest of Honour. The session also marked the convocation of RLI Cohort 4 Fellows, recognising their learning and the next chapter of their journeys.

The afternoon focused on Digital Financial Inclusion and the Know Your Money Project, supported by HDFC securities and implemented by Access Livelihoods. The programme marked the launch of the Creyo App, Workbook and PWESPC initiative, followed by the convocation of Pragati Sakhis, who are taking financial and digital knowledge closer to communities.
We were honoured to have Mr. S. Sivakumar, Group CEO, ITC, as Chief Guest, along with Mr. P. Mohanaiah, Board Member, Access Livelihoods and former CGM, NABARD, and Board Members Smt. Meena Dhandapani and Mr. Madhu Murthy, joining us for the celebrations.

The day concluded with cultural performances by Tatvaa Music Academy and the Access Livelihoods team, celebrating the many talents and voices that make our community what it is.
As we complete 21 years of Access Livelihoods, we carry forward the experiences, partnerships and aspirations that have shaped our journey-and our commitment to creating pathways for women-led livelihoods, stronger institutions and resilient communities.

21 years have shown us what is possible when communities, partners and people build together. What should the next chapter of this journey make possible?

What does financial awareness look like in action?

Here’s one story from the ground.

Four members of the Thiruvathira Kudumbashree unit came together with the goal of starting a small business. They had the motivation to become self-reliant, but needed guidance to take the first formal steps.

With support from Pragati Sakhi Shubhalakshmi, they received hands-on guidance with enterprise registration, FSSAI registration, product labelling and packaging.

Today, their business is successfully launched and operating on a sustainable footing.

As we count down to the HDFC securities Pragati Sakhi Utsav, we’re celebrating stories like these, where support creates the confidence to take the next step.

What can the right guidance make possible?

From Awareness to Action

Financial inclusion is not just about access; it is also about having the knowledge and confidence to make informed choices.

Know Your Money, a digital financial inclusion initiative by HDFC Securities, implemented by Access Livelihoods, works with communities to build awareness around money, digital finance and financial services.

At the grassroots, Pragati Sakhis play an important role in bringing this knowledge closer to communities. As community-based facilitators, they help people navigate financial services, digital tools and opportunities, turning awareness into action.

Together, HDFC Securities, Access Livelihoods and Pragati Sakhis are strengthening financial confidence, improving digital access and creating pathways towards stronger livelihood opportunities.

As we look forward to the Pragati Sakhi Utsav, we celebrate the Pragati Sakhis and the partnerships that continue to make financial inclusion more accessible at the grassroots.

Celebrating Community Leadership, Women’s entrepreneurship & New opportunities.

On 5th October 2026, Access Livelihoods, in collaboration with HDFC securities, will celebrate Pragati Sakhi Utsav as part of its Foundation Day celebrations.

At the heart of this occasion are the Pragati Sakhis - women working within their communities to strengthen financial capability, connect households with financial services and government schemes and enable women to explore entrepreneurship and livelihood opportunities.

Their role goes beyond creating awareness. Through trusted, last-mile support and continued engagement, Pragati Sakhis help communities move from access to informed use, build greater financial confidence and connect women with opportunities to strengthen their enterprises and livelihoods.

Pragati Sakhi Utsav is an opportunity to recognise their contribution and celebrate a journey that brings together financial inclusion, financial capability, women’s entrepreneurship, government convergence and sustainable community institutions.

As we come together, we celebrate the Pragati Sakhis, their journeys and the new opportunities they continue to create within their communities.
