A step towards bridging the digital education gap in Sandur.

During the event, Smt. MLA Annapoorna Tukaram appreciated and announced the establishment of a Digital Studio in Sandur, developed in collaboration with NMDC with an investment of ₹40 lakh.

The initiative aims to support schools in border areas of the taluk, especially those facing teacher shortages, by enabling access to high-quality remote lessons and digital learning resources through technology.

By strengthening digital infrastructure for education, NMDC continues to support initiatives that create meaningful opportunities for students and communities.

A new journey begins with opportunity, aspiration and the courage to move forward.

Under the NMDC Balika Shiksha Yojana – 2026, an Induction & Flag-Off Ceremony was organized for 18 ST girl candidates selected to pursue the Diploma in General Nursing and Midwifery (GNM) at SRM Institute of Science and Technology .

The bus carrying the 18 students to Chennai was flagged off by Mr. K. Sreedhar, CGM, BIOM, marking the beginning of their academic journey and a significant step towards education, empowerment and a promising future.

NMDC wishes all 18 students success as they begin this new chapter of learning and growth.

On 29.08.2026, the NMDC Donimalai Complex CSR Department organised the Grand Finale of the Inter-School Chess Tournament 2026 at Doni Club, bringing together talented students from schools across the local Gram Panchayats.

The event was graced by Shri P. Ramaiyan, CGM-HoP, Shri Anil Kumar, CGM-Production, Shri S. Chatterjee, GM (HR) CSR, along with senior officials and the CSR team.

Following school-level competitions, the finalists came together to demonstrate focus, patience, strategic thinking and determination. First, Second, Third and Consolation Prizes were presented to the deserving students in recognition of their achievements and enthusiasm.

Through this initiative, NMDC continues to nurture young talent, encourage intellectual development and empower children from local communities with the confidence to learn, grow and lead.
