Greetings from EPTRI EIACP!
The EPTRI EIACP has orginized a Mission LiFE awareness program at Government Degree College for Women, Golconda on 26 March 2026 focusing on the seven themes of Mission LiFE and encouraging participants to adopt environmentally responsible behaviors. A pledge was taken around 180 students and 35 faculty members from various colleges attended the sessions and actively participated in the program. EIACP Coordinator has delivered a lecture on “Advancing Awareness on Air Pollution and Greener Lifestyles” at a one-day National Workshop on Environmental Toxicology and Health.

On the occasion of World Water Day on 22nd March and World Meteorological Day on 23rd March EPTRI EIACP PC Hub in collaboration with IITM (Indian Institute of Tropical Meteorology) EIACP has organized a expert talk sessions as follows:

Session-1: Significance of weather prediction in the Changing Climate by Dr. S.D. Sanap, Scientist, India meteorological Department, Pune.
Session-2: Enhancing Energy Recovery of Wastewater Treatment Plants by Dr. V. Himabindu Professor & Head, Centre for Environment at Jawaharlal Nehru Technological University Hyderabad (JNTUH). The sessions were live streamed on Youtube. Around 25 participants were present during the webinar.

EIACP has brought out a knowledge poster on Vanda tessellata, commonly known as Lattice Orchid or Checkered Vanda, is an epiphytic orchid belonging to the family Orchidaceae. The name Vanda comes from a Sanskrit word used for certain orchids, while tessellata means checkered or mosaic, referring to its patterned petals. It is native to the Indian subcontinent, China (Yunnan), and Indo-China. The plant has thick aerial roots, strap-like leaves, and produces attractive flowers with a checkered purple and yellow pattern. It absorbs moisture from the air through its aerial roots and serves as an indicator of healthy ecosystems. The orchid is also used in hybrid breeding but faces threats due to overcollection from the wild and habitat destruction.
