Yesterday on 8th March 2022 we celebrated International Women's Day at Jwnwmfuri Village, Garchuk, Guwahati in collaboration with and whereas All Bodo Women Welfare Federation also took part in the event. International Women's Day is a global holiday celebrated annually on March 8 to commemorate the Cultural, Political, and Socioeconomic achievements of women & specially to encourage the women to stand for their rights with dignity. Rega Foundation Trust and Swastikam honored Sarojini Basumatary, Dr. Anjali Daimari, Giri Daimary and Mohini Ramchiyari with Lifetime Achievement Award for their contribution to the Society and Boro Art, Culture and Music. Neelmani Daimary was awarded with Kusum Purushkar for the achievement in Dance and Music and being selected at Sony TV in Dance India Dance Show. Foolmati Boro Hema Basumatary, Roshni Daimary and Poonam Kumari Boro rceived Naari Shakti Award for their achievements in various fields and standing odd in the crowd to achieve what they dreamed of. Canara Bank Manager, Sri Kanhaiya Singh, Social Worker, Dr. Anjali Daimari, Senior Artist and Socialist Sri Deben Boro graced the event by making their presence.
The Event was started with Flag Hoisting by Rega Foundation's Trustee Sansri Basumatary, Swastikam North East Advisor, Anamika Basumatary, Canara Bank's Asst. Manager Karabi Mushahary, and All Bodo Women Welfare Federation's Secretary Mohini Ramchiyari, then National Anthem and introduction. The women's day was full of Games like Kabbadi, Blind Box Breaking, Rope Pulling, Musical Chair, etc. Here's in the below some glimpses of the event......
