The of Youth Services and Sports, Zone Fatehgarh, is going to conduct Block Level Selection Trials for Block Narwav under the Engagement of Youth Programme, organized by the Directorate of Youth Services and Sports, Jammu & Kashmir.
The trials will be held for Under-17 and Under-19 Boys in the disciplines of Cricket, Volleyball, and Football.

YSS Zone Fatehgarh Celebrates ‘Sunday on Cycle’ Anniversary with Mass Participation
Fatehgarh, 21 December:
The Department of Youth Services & Sports (YSS), Zone Fatehgarh, today marked the Anniversary of ‘Sunday on Cycle’ under the Fit India Initiative with remarkable enthusiasm and mass participation. Despite persistent rainfall and challenging weather conditions, the programme was conducted successfully across the zone, reflecting strong commitment towards fitness and healthy living.
A total of 90 students, including 35 girls and 55 boys, actively participated in the event. The programme was further enriched by the presence of Mr Ghulam Nabi Dar, Chief Guest on the occasion and father of Aqib Nabi Dar, who has recently joined Delhi Capitals in the IPL, serving as a major inspiration for young athletes of the Valley.
As part of the celebrations, a series of fitness-oriented activities, including a yoga session, were organised by YSS Zone Fatehgarh. The enthusiastic participation of students, even in adverse weather conditions, showcased their discipline, energy, and dedication towards physical fitness.
The initiative aimed to promote a healthy lifestyle, create environmental awareness, and instill the habit of regular physical activity among students. The programme reinforced the message that fitness is a lifelong commitment and should continue irrespective of circumstances.
While interacting with students and officials, the Chief Guest appreciated the spirit of participants and the dedication of the field staff for ensuring the successful conduct of the event.
“The enthusiasm displayed by students and officials despite the rainy conditions truly reflects the growing fitness culture in Zone Fatehgarh. Such initiatives strengthen the objectives of the Fit India Movement and motivate youth to adopt sports and physical activity as an integral part of their lives,” he remarked.

Cycle Race Organized Under Fit India Movement in Baramulla

Baramulla, May 4, 2025 – In a spirited initiative under the Fit India Movement, a cycle race was successfully conducted today at Gulnar Park, Baramulla. The event was jointly organized by Zone Baramulla, Zone Fatehgarh, and Zone Singhpora Kalan.

The race witnessed enthusiastic participation from students and staff alike, with all officials and staff members from the District Youth Services and Sports Office (DYSSO) Baramulla actively taking part and contributing to the success of the event. The competition was held under the supervision of ZPEO Fatehgarh, Mr. Mubeen Ahmad Khan, who ensured the smooth and disciplined ex*****on of the event. The participants showcased remarkable flexibility, focus, and spirit, reflecting their dedication to the practice of yoga.

Inter-School Zonal Level Chess Competition – Fatehgarh (18th April)

On 18th April, an Inter-School Zonal Level Chess Competition for boys was successfully conducted at Zone Fatehgarh. The event witnessed enthusiastic participation from over 60 students representing various schools within the zone.

The competition was organized to promote strategic thinking and mental discipline among students, while also identifying top talents for higher-level tournaments. Matches were played in a competitive yet friendly atmosphere, adhering to standard chess regulations.

The event was conducted under the supervision and guidance of Mr. Mubeen Ahmad Khan, the Zonal Physical Education Officer (ZPEO) of Fatehgarh, who ensured smooth ex*****on and fair play throughout the tournament. His efforts were instrumental in motivating students and fostering a spirit of sportsmanship and excellence.

The competition not only highlighted the growing interest in chess among school students but also served as a platform for young minds to showcase their skills and learn from each other.
