National Institute Of Technology,Durgapur,India is an Institute of National Importance.It is a centre of excellence like IITs and help fulfil the need of the country for quality manpower in the field of engineering, science, technology and management Established under an act of Parliament of India in 1960 is a fully funded Technological Institution of the Government of India and is administered by

an autonomous Board of Governors.In 2010, NIT-Durgapur celebrates its Golden Jubilee Year (completing 50 years). NIT-Durgapur is one of the oldest of 14-RECs established between 1959 and 1965.It have a lot of contribution towards the field of engineering research and have tied up with CERN,Geneva ans NUS for student exchange program and related research.
