होय. "ब्राह्मणी मैना" असे नाव असणारा मी एक पक्षी आहे. आता मैना ठिक आहे; पण त्यापाठीमागे ब्राह्मणी शब्द पाहून तुम्ही नक्कीच चक्रावला असाल. पक्ष्यांमध्येसुद्धा ही जातीची टक्केवारी वगैरे प्रकरण असते की काय? अशी शंकाही तुमच्या मनात नक्कीच आली असेल. तर तसे मुळीच नाही. माझ्या काळ्या चकचकीत डोक्यावर असलेल्या काळ्या शेंडीमुळे मला हे नाव मिळाले आहे. याशिवाय माझ्या डोक्यावर भांग पाडल्यासारखी काळी पिस असतात, म्हणून मला "भांगपाडी मैना" असही म्हणतात. माझ्या शरिराचा वरील भाग राखी रंगाचा तर खालील भाग तांबूस पिवळसर रंगाचा असतो. माझ्या पंखांना छान काळ्या कडा असतात. तर शेपूट पिंगट रंगाची असून तिच्या टोकाची पिसे पांढरी असतात. भारताच्या राष्ट्रीय ध्वजाप्रमाणे माझी चोच तिरंगी असते. चोचीचा पुढचा भाग पिवळा, मधला हिरवा तर शेवटचा भाग निळ्या रंगाचा असतो. माझे पाय पिवळ्या रंगाचे तर डोळ्याची बुबुळे हिरवट रंगाची असतात. अशा अनेक रंगाच्या नजराण्याबरोबरच मला सुमधूर आवाजाची देणगी लाभली असल्याने पूर्वी मला पिंजर्‍यात पाळले जात असे. पण खर तर मला बागा, झुडुपे, विरळ जंगले, येथे वास्तव्य करायला फार आवडते. आंबा, पिंपळ, चिंच, जांभूळ, कडुलिंब, अशा झाडांच्या ढोलीत किंवा मंदिरे, पॅगोडा, उंच कौलारू इमारतींच्या कौलांमध्ये मी घर बांधते.विणीचा कल म्हणजे मे आणि जून !

ऊन खूप आहे आणि पाणी कमी आपण मुक्या जीवांना मदत म्हणून एक पाऊल उचला घराबाहेर पक्षांसाठी हमखास दाणापाण्याची सोय करा !!😊

Caption plz !!!

The species is found in small flocks which keep in contact with loud nasal calls. Members of the flock may join in defending against predators. Individuals may also mob their own reflections.They are mostly seen in open scrub country where they forage on or close to the ground. They hop and leap on the ground in search of prey.

हुदहुद - Common Hoopoe (Upupa epops) Its latin name, upupa, describes the call more accurately a loud "oop!" in sets of three.
