This *Ganesh Chaturthi*, let’s think about what happens to the clay after visarjan.

We are happy to share that *Kathaवट is joining the Punaravartan Campaign as a collection centre*.

Punaravartan brings reuse and recycling into our festivals by *collecting the clay from Shaadu Maati Ganapati idols* after visarjan and returning it to *artisans to make new idols*. Learn more about the Punaravartan Campaign: https://punaravartan.org/ eCoexist

So, if you have a Shaadu Maati Ganapati, simply *collect the clay after visarjan and bring it to Kathaवट*. We’ll take care of the rest. 🌱

*Some teachers stay with us long after we leave the school.*📚

Our Teacher by Su.Raa. (Sundara Ramaswamy), illustrated by Neeta Gangopadhyay and published by Katha Books, is a thoughtful story about a teacher who refuses to label her students as weak and works hard to bring out their potential.

Su.Ra. was a celebrated Tamil writer, known for his simple yet powerful stories about people and life.

A book. An injured dog. A phone call. And a whole lot of learning. 🐾📖

What happens when a story steps out of a book and into real life?

We have Dugga at Kathaवट — a beautiful, wordless book by Rajiv Eipe rajiv eipe Pratham Books , based on the real story of a street dog in Bengaluru. We read it, talk about it and turn its pages. But sometimes, the real world gives us a chance to do something about what we’ve read.

Recently, an injured dog came to Kathaवट. We reached out to Paws Care, and that one call made all the difference.

The Paws Care team came to help him and treated him with medicines for over five days, making sure he got the care he needed.

That small incident then led to an awareness session at the library, where the team spoke to the children about caring for the animals around us.

A big thank you to the Paws Care team Paws Care Animal Resq & Kinni’s 2nd Home for spending time with the children at Kathaवट and helping them understand how we can be kinder and more responsible towards the animals around us. It was a lovely, interactive session filled with learning, questions and conversations.

*Something new is coming to Kathaवट! 🎨✨*

We’re super excited to introduce Art Classes with @⁨Khushboo Artist Khush Creations⁩ ! 🖌️🌈

Khushbu loves helping children and adults discover their creativity and express themselves through drawing, painting and art.

There’ll be offline sessions at Kathaवट on Thursdays and online sessions on Tuesdays.

Come draw, paint, experiment and have some fun with art!
