This week, the National Institute of Technology (NIT) Calicut, hosted 'Quantum Leap: Applications Across Industry & Research, bringing together policymakers, researchers, industry leaders, and academia to deliberate on the transformative potential of quantum technologies.
Shri Sambasiva IAS, Secretary, Electronics & IT, Government of Kerala, addressed the gathering, highlighting the importance of fostering innovation, strengthening research capabilities, and enabling collaboration across government, academia, startups, and industry to accelerate the adoption of emerging technologies. He also emphasized Kerala’s commitment to building a future-ready ecosystem that supports advanced research, education and technology-driven growth. Dr. Vijay Anand Ramanujan, CEO, Foundation for QC Innovation, talked about the work of the National Quantum Mission, its objectives and road map.
The session featured distinguished experts, including Colonel Sai Shankar P (Retd.), Founder & Director, QClairvoyance, who shared valuable insights into practical applications of quantum computing across sectors. The programme was organized by Dr. Jacob George (NIT) and served as a valuable platform for knowledge exchange and interdisciplinary collaboration.
The future is Quantum and such initiatives play an important role in supporting India’s National Quantum Mission by fostering innovation, nurturing talent, and strengthening partnerships that will shape the adoption and future of quantum technologies in Kerala.
