Dhemaji, 15 March (Est. No.). Addressing a public meeting of Voters Party International at Karichuk Ground in Dhemaji city, party chief Shri Vishwatma has said that the party will contest on 7 out of total 14 Lok Sabha seats in Assam in the Lok Sabha elections. The names of the Lok Sabha constituencies where the party will field its candidates are- Guwahati, Dhubri, Kokrajhar, Barpeta, Darrang Udalguri, Sonitpur and Lakhimpur. Shri Vishwatma said that the names of the candidates will be announced by the Election Commission as soon as the election notification is issued. Mainly party workers from Dhemaji and Lakhimpur attended the meeting.

VPI's policy director Shri Vishwatma has appealed to the party workers to campaign in an unconventional manner this time. He said that election campaigning does not mean display of vehicles, motors, banners and posters. The leaders of the political parties, who are doing corporate brokerage to 93% of the people of the society who are struggling for every penny, flaunt their wealth. It is said that since I am the richest man of my caste, my religion and my area. So vote for me and vote for my party.

Shri Vishwatma said that most of the people in the society do not know the meaning of vote, the meaning of democracy, the meaning of the true relationship between the voter and the public representative. Voters Party International (VPI) Assam, President Hon'ble, Lalit Pegu was arrested by Chirang and Kokrajhar police forces on 6/2/2023 for speaking out against child marriage and eviction but was later released by the police .
