A Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was formally signed between Central Sanskrit University and Gyan Bharatam India as part of a strategic initiative focused on the preservation, enrichment, and academic advancement of Sanskrit and India’s knowledge traditions.

The MoU signing ceremony was conducted in the distinguished presence of the Hon’ble Secretary, Ministry of Culture, Government of India , Mr. Vivek Agarwal; the Hon’ble Chancellor of Central Sanskrit University, Prof. Shrinivasa Varakhedi; Prof. R.G. Murali Krishna; along with eminent scholars and academicians, including Dr. P. M. Gupta and the Gyan Bharat team.

This collaboration represents a significant step toward strengthening the integration of India’s classical intellectual heritage with contemporary academic and research frameworks.

Central Sanskrit University (CSU) to Launch Soon e-Digital Library Platform for Sanskrit & IKS Institutions

A Landmark Step Towards Digital India & Viksit Bharat 2047

We are delighted to share that Central Sanskrit University (CSU), New Delhi, under the visionary leadership of our Hon’ble Vice-Chancellor Prof. Shrinivasa Varakhedi, has announced a major digital transformation initiative during the 2nd Central Library Committee Meeting.
• e-Digital Library Platform to digitally integrate Sanskrit and Indian Knowledge Systems (IKS) institutions across India
• Creation of a Union Catalogue of all Sanskrit university libraries
• Formation of a Sanskrit Library Network and Sanskrit Libraries Consortium, connecting all Sanskrit Universities, all CSU campuses, Adarsh Sanskrit Colleges, and IKS institutions across the country.

📌 Theme of World Book and Copyright Day 2025 : "Read Your Way: Diverse Books for Every Mind"

📖 A bit of history:

World Book Day was established by UNESCO in 1995, inspired by Spanish author Vicente Clavel Andrés to honor Miguel de Cervantes. Since then, April 23rd has become a global celebration of books, embraced by schools, libraries, authors, and readers around the world.

📍 UNESCO names Rio de Janeiro as World Book Capital for 2025

In a momentous announcement, UNESCO has designated Rio de Janeiro, Brazil as the World Book Capital for 2025.

We are pleased to invite you to a 3-Day Symposium on:

“Transforming Sanskrit Libraries in the Context of NEP 2020 for Viksit Bharat@2047

📅 Date: 26th - 28th March, 2025
📍 Venue: Samvet Auditorium, Indira Gandhi National Centre for the Arts, Janpath, New Delhi

🎓 Organized by Central Sanskrit University, New Delhi
🤝 In collaboration with Indira Gandhi National Centre for the Arts (IGNCA), Ministry of Culture, Govt. of India

This symposium will focus on the pivotal role of Sanskrit libraries in shaping India’s knowledge ecosystem as envisioned in the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020 and aligning with the vision of Viksit Bharat@2047.

Who Should Attend?

📌 Library and Information professionals (Librarians, Deputy Librarians, Assistant Librarians, Professional Assistants, Semi-Professional Assistants)
📌 Researchers working in Sanskrit Universities, Sanskrit Colleges, Adarsh Institutes, CSU-affiliated and other allied institutions engaged in Indian Traditional Knowledge Systems

Registration & Accommodation

✅ No Registration Fee – Registration is on a first-come, first-serve basis, subject to confirmation. Registered participants will receive a kit, lunch, dinner, and certificates.
🏨 Accommodation will be provided by the host university.
🚆 Travel Reimbursement – 2nd AC/3rd AC train fare will be reimbursed for two nominated participants per university. Additional participants can attend at their own expense.
